About the Role
The Associate will play a dual role, combining analytical support with client-facing responsibilities. This includes preparing pitch materials, conducting financial analysis, and supporting senior bankers in coverage of key corporate and institutional clients. The role requires strong financial modeling, market research, and presentation skills, along with the ability to contribute to client meetings and relationship management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Pitching
- Assist senior coverage bankers in managing client relationships across sectors.
- Prepare client pitches, presentations, and briefing notes for new business development.
- Participate in select client meetings, contributing to discussions and providing analytical insights.
- Track client engagement activities and help in identifying cross-sell opportunities.
Analytical Support
- Conduct financial statement analysis, valuation, benchmarking, and industry research.
- Support in preparation of transaction memos, pitchbooks, and internal credit presentations.
- Develop financial models (DCF, trading comparables, transaction comps, scenario analysis).
- Monitor client portfolio performance and prepare periodic review materials.
Market & Sector Research
- Track industry developments, competitive intelligence, and macroeconomic trends.
- Generate insights and reports to support client conversations and internal strategy.
Strategic Leadership
- Provide vision and direction for the growth of IB business.
- Identify new market opportunities and design strategies for expansion.
- Represent the firm at industry forums, conferences, and in media.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM, Structured Finance) to deliver holistic solutions.
- Coordinate with risk, compliance, and credit teams for client approvals and deal execution.
- Mentor and guide Analysts / interns on research and modeling tasks.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking products.
- Ability to balance detail-oriented analysis with high-level strategic thinking.
- Team player with ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBA / CA / CFA / Postgraduate in Finance or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, or equity research.
- Prior exposure to coverage banking or client-facing analytical roles preferred.
- Experience in preparing pitchbooks and working on live deals will be an advantage.
