Mizuho IT is seeking an experienced Business Analyst in the Regulatory Operations IT team. This is a challenging position requiring strong, proven experience in business analysis, design, delivery and client relationship management domains. The role involves working on multiple complex projects in parallel to successfully deliver solutions for the Regulatory Reporting of OTC Derivatives across Rates, FX, Credit, Equities and Commodities asset classes to multiple regimes.


Successful candidate must be experienced with identifying and analyzing technology and process problems, while developing business requirements and solutions for tactical and/or strategic projects, in collaboration with Business and Technology stakeholders across Operations. Identify and document gaps in procedures, and create solutions for scalable and repeatable processes, in adherence with the compliance framework and IT best practices established. Ensure that all the necessary processes are thoroughly implemented to take full advantage of the capabilities of the systems. The candidate must be a problem solver, technically proficient, able to multi-task well, explain solutions clearly, well organized, with ability to work independently with minimal oversight.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform business analysis to understand the requirements for Parts 43/45/20 regulatory reporting to CFTC, CSA, EMIR jurisdictions. Organize meetings with Regulatory Operations users to gather these requirements to support the reporting of new products or to remediate existing reporting errors and omissions
  • Map trade details and lifecycle events from upstream systems to regulatory details. Maintain data lineage documents
  • Write detailed specifications on mapping and all intermediate logic as data traverses through multiple systems for eventual reporting to ensure completeness and accuracy are maintained at the highest levels
  • Explain the requirements to development teams to ensure they are clearly understood. Collaborate on designing solutions, collect estimates to track progress and manage timelines. Work with Enterprise Project Managers to ensure on time and successful delivery of projects
  • Analyze BAU reporting gaps and work with various technical teams to come up with both tactical and strategic solutions to bridge the gaps
  • Perform system integration testing. Discuss test plans with users and technical teams to ensure comprehensive regression and functional testing. Document test cases and results
  • Identify, document and manage risks. Recognize issues and proactively create solutions to mitigate their impact.
  • Identify, document and remediate gaps in processes and ensure the adherence to industry best practices.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s). Master’s Degree a plus
  • 5 years’ work experience as a BA/PM with OTC Derivatives. Strong product knowledge of OTC Swaps and Options
  • Data and Process mapping/process improvement experience
  • Work experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience as a business analyst working with SQL, Excel, XML, JIRA, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Confluence
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with extreme attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player and relationship builder
  • Preference for individuals who can work until at least 11 am NY time (8:30-9:30 pm IST) to maximize overlap time with other team members and attend team scrum meetings
