Job Description

Role Overview\nWe are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a CI/CD and developer platform team responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving large-scale internal engineering systems.\nThis role combines people leadership, technical direction, and operational ownership of a critical platform used by hundreds (or thousands) of engineers. You will drive improvements in developer productivity, deployment reliability, and operational efficiency while ensuring the platform remains stable, scalable, and cost-effective.\nThis is not a traditional product management role —however, you are expected to demonstrate a platform mindset , including understanding internal user needs, prioritizing engineering investments, and delivering measurable improvements to developer experience.\n\nWhat You Will Own\n1. Team Leadership & People Management\nManage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers (typically 5–10 members)\nDrive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development\nFoster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement\nSupport engineers in technical growth and leadership progression\n2.

CI/CD Platform Ownership\nOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of CI/CD systems (build, test, deploy pipelines)\nEnsure platform reliability, scalability, and usability for internal engineering teams\nMaintain high availability of production services supporting deployment workflows\nDefine and enforce best practices for software delivery and release processes\n3. DevOps & Platform Engineering Strategy\nDrive technical direction across:\nCI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD)\nInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.)\nContainerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)\nImprove deployment frequency, lead time, and failure recovery metrics\nIdentify and eliminate bottlenecks in the software delivery lifecycle\n4. Reliability, Operations & Incident Management\nEnsure strong operational practices:\nMonitoring, alerting, and observability\nIncident response and postmortem processes\nImprove platform stability and reduce operational overhead through automation\nChampion SRE principles such as error budgets and reliability engineering\n5.

Stakeholder Collaboration (Platform Mindset)\nWork closely with internal engineering teams to understand platform pain points\nPrioritize roadmap initiatives based on engineering impact and efficiency gains\nCommunicate trade-offs, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders\nBalance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform scalability\n6. Cost & Efficiency Optimization\nManage infrastructure costs related to CI/CD workloads\nDrive initiatives to improve compute utilization and reduce waste\nEvaluate and adopt tools that improve efficiency without increasing complexity\n\nRequired Experience\n5+ years in software engineering / platform / DevOps roles\n2+ years of engineering management experience , including:\nTeam leadership\nPerformance management\nHiring and mentoring\nHands-on experience with:\nCI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)\nCloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)\nKubernetes and containerized environments\nInfrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)\nStrong experience in:\nProduction operations and incident management\nBuilding and maintaining internal platforms or developer tooling\nProven ability to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer productivity\nExperience working in cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders\nFluent English communication skills
