This is a senior individual contributor role focused on migrating legacy file storage and SQL Server databases into AWS-native environments while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and operational reliability.\nYou will drive architecture decisions, build migration and reporting pipelines, and define data quality and cutover strategies in a Kubernetes and AWS-based ecosystem.\nMandatory experience Aurora/RDS, in on prem to AWS, file migration and DB migration experience\n\nKey ResponsibilitiesData Migration\nLead migration of:\nNAS/NFS/SMB file storage to Amazon S3\nSQL Server databases to Aurora PostgreSQL / RDS\nHandle large-scale file migrations (100+ GB files)\nDesign incremental sync, reconciliation, checksum validation, rollback, and cutover strategies\nBuild multi-hop data flows between S3, Kubernetes processing clusters, and analytics platforms\nData Engineering & Reporting\nDesign and build AWS-based ETL/ELT pipelines\nDevelop ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows\nEnable analytics using Redshift, Athena, and Aurora\nOptimize pipeline performance, scalability, and cost\nData Quality & Reliability\nBuild validation, reconciliation, and quarantine frameworks\nImplement monitoring, retry, and escalation workflows\nSupport DR testing, performance tuning, and migration validation\nInfrastructure & CI/CD\nWork within Terraform-managed AWS environments\nContribute to GitLab CI/CD pipelines\nSupport security and compliance initiatives across IAM, KMS, encryption, and secrets management\nRequired Skills\n8+ years of Data Engineering experience\nStrong experience with:\nNAS/NFS/SMB → S3 migrations\nSQL Server → Aurora/PostgreSQL migrations\nStrong Python and SQL expertise\nHands-on experience with:\nboto3\nSQLAlchemy\nETL scripting\nStrong AWS knowledge:\nS3\nAurora/RDS\nIAM\nKMS\nCloudWatch\nECS/EKS\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform\nAbility to independently drive technical and architectural decisions\nPreferred Skills\nSpark, Airflow, or Kubernetes-based data pipelines\nExposure to Go or Java microservices\nPytest, Playwright, or K6 testing frameworks\nBlue/green cutover and rollback planning experience\nExperience supporting ML/data science workloads
