OurOrganization:
As the Senior Staff Engineer -StoreWebModernization, you are the most senior handson technical leader within the BackofStores Engineering organization. You will define modernization architectures, drive evolutionary design, and author enterprise reference patterns for transforming theStoreWebplatform into a secure, resilient, Azurenative ecosystem. You serve as the top technical authority guiding platformwide decisionmaking, modernization sequencing, datamigration choreography, and reliability best practices. While this role carries no direct reports, your influence spans engineering teams, architects, platform engineers, and executive stakeholders.
What you will do
Define target architecture, modernization blueprints, and StranglerFig sequencing forStoreWebtransformation.
Publish reference architectures, ADRs, service templates, modernization guardrails, and telemetrybydefault standards.
Architect APIfirst modernization patterns including APIMcentric routing, contract governance, and versioning strategies.
Establish nonfunctional standards covering resiliency patterns (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers), idempotency, andreliabilitySLIs/SLOs.
Lead architectural reviews, threat modeling, performancescalability assessments, and systemic risk identification.
Define datamigration patterns (CDC, dualwrite, reconciliation, cutover choreography) andguide domainextraction strategy.
Act as the primary technicalunblocker-deep diving into code, runtime issues, CI/CD,IaC, or architecture to accelerate momentum.
Drive engineering excellence across secure coding, automated testing, observability, CI/CD governance, andIaCconsistency.
Influence modernization strategy across partner teams including security, networking, store operations, and platform engineering.
Mentor senior engineers across India and the U.S., elevating architectural decisionmaking and technical maturity.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years softwareengineering experience with 3+ years in principal/staff engineering roles.
Deepexpertiseacross Azure services: APIM, App Services/AKS, Functions, Service Bus/Event Grid, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB.
Strong grounding in security and identity (OAuth2, JWT, Entra ID).
Handson experience delivering cloudnative, resilient, observable systems using modern CI/CD andIaC(Bicep/Terraform).
Proven experience driving largescale modernization or StranglerFig migrations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with retail/store systems, edge computing, or offlinefirst architectures.
ExpertisewithOpenTelemetry, KQL, App Insights, and performance or capacity modeling.
Familiarity with SLObased operations, error budgets, and productionreadiness practices.
