Position: Accountant - Finance
Roles & Responsibilities
- Accurately post all financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses, payroll, etc.) into the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank, cash, credit card, and other ledger accounts to ensure balances match and discrepancies are resolved.
- Identify and clear items in suspense accounts by posting them to correct ledgers.
- Record accruals for expenses incurred but not yet invoiced, and adjust prepaid expenses to match the accounting period.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries (depreciation, provisions, corrections, etc.) as part of month-end close.
- Generate monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements for management review.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, tax compliance, and maintain internal controls to prevent errors/fraud across relevant jurisdictions.
- Provide variance analysis, highlight unusual transactions, and support management decision-making.
- Maintain proper documentation of reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for audit purposes.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes while ensuring adherence to all legal and statutory obligations.
- Update procedure documentation and accounting policies on timely basis.
- Adhere to prevailing Eka’s ISMS policies and procedures while delivering the duties.
Experience and Skillset:
- B.Com / M.Com with 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong expertise in accounting operations, financial reporting, and books closure processes.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing management reports to support business decision-making.
- Hands-on experience in managing audits, with preference for candidates having exposure to both industry and Big 4 environments.
- Prior experience in the IT/SaaS industry will be considered an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of revenue recognition principles, Lease accounting, Consolidation in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Proficiency in preparation and finalization of financial statements.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Ability to use AI and enhance productivity using automation
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders across levels.
