Job Title: Ceph Storage

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Deployment and Administration: Installing, configuring, and upgrading Ceph clusters, including managing monitors (MONs) and Object Storage Daemons (OSDs).
• Performance Optimization: Tuning Ceph for optimal block, object, and file system storage performance based on workload needs.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Proactively monitoring cluster health, performance, and capacity, using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or the Ceph Dashboard.
• Troubleshooting: Resolving complex storage incidents, such as PG (Placement Group) inconsistencies, OSD failures, and data rebalancing issues.
• Data Protection: Implementing storage policies for data replication, erasure coding, and snapshot management.
• Automation: Using automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) to automate daily tasks, deployment, and infrastructure management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with Ceph: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience managing large-scale Ceph clusters in production environments.
• Linux Expertise: Strong background in Linux systems administration (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of network protocols, Linux networking, and distributed systems.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go for automation.
• Kubernetes/Cloud: Knowledge of Kubernetes storage orchestration, particularly Rook.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
