High Integrity Software - Technical Specialist
Job Description
You will build, lead and mentor a high‑performing team delivering model‑based control software, Functional Safety work products and ASPICE‑compliant processes. You will ensure engineering excellence, robust project execution, and a culture that puts safety and quality first. The team size will initially be around 15 people, but with potential for further growth in the future.\n\nResponsibilities:\nBuild, lead, mentor and line‑manage a multi‑disciplinary HIS engineering team, including recruitment, developing technical capability and supporting career growth.\nProvide technical leadership across safety‑critical software engineering, model‑based development and ASPICE/ISO 26262‑aligned delivery.\nEnsure disciplined application of modelling guidelines, coding standards, verification practices and safety processes across all team outputs.\nOversee planning, prioritisation and execution of team activities, managing resources, tracking progress and addressing engineering risks.\nDrive continuous improvement of processes, tools, workflows and engineering practices in collaboration with the core UK HIS, FuSa and Software teams.\nSupport compliance activities including audits, assessments and evidence preparation for ISO 26262, ASPICE and internal QMS requirements.\nRepresent the offshore HIS team in design reviews, technical forums and governance meetings, providing clear status, risk visibility and escalation where required.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Experience:\nEssential:\nStrong background in safety‑critical embedded software, with experience in model‑based development (MATLAB/Simulink).\nSolid understanding of ISO 26262, ASPICE and high‑integrity development processes, or equivalent standards from other industries.\nBroad appreciation of the full software lifecycle, from requirements through architecture, detailed design, unit construction, verification, integration and qualification.\nDemonstrated experience leading engineering teams or technical groups.\nAbility to influence across functions and locations, with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.\nStrong process and quality mindset with a focus on disciplined engineering.\nDesirable:\nExperience in automotive control systems, especially propulsion, torque control or EV/HEV systems.\nFamiliarity with model/code quality tools, ECU toolchains and automotive communication protocols.\nExperience working with distributed/onshore‑offshore delivery models.\nAutomotive experience preferred, but strong candidates from similar industries will also be considered (e.g.
