Associate, Founder's office
Job Description
\"Strategy & Execution - the person who makes things happen\"
About Fundwave
Fundwave builds the operating system for alternative fund managers — private equity, venture capital, real estate, and fund of funds. Our platform unifies fund administration, portfolio management, and LP reporting into one place, replacing the spreadsheets that still run a surprising amount of the industry.
We're a team of ~20, profitable, and building deliberately. Our clients are fund managers across Asia, the US, and Europe who rely on us daily to run their back office.
The role
This role sits at the centre of the company. You'll work directly with the founder on the things that matter most — translating intent into reality, spotting what's slowing the company down, and removing those blockers before they compound.
We're not looking for someone to build decks. We're looking for someone who gets things done - someone who can walk into an ambiguous situation, figure out what needs to happen, and make it happen.
The split is roughly 20% strategy, 80% execution. On any given week you might be structuring a new go-to-market motion, following up with a key prospect, digging into operational bottlenecks, or owning a cross-functional project end-to-end.
What you'll work on
- Own high-priority initiatives from problem definition to resolution — not just the analysis, but the outcome
- Work directly with the founder to sharpen strategy, set priorities, and track progress across the business
- Identify gaps in operations, sales, or product processes and build the systems to fix them
- Manage relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders on behalf of the founder
- Run special projects that don't fit neatly into any one team — and don't need to
- Synthesise information across the company and surface what actually matters for decision-making
What we're looking for
Background
- 2–5 years of experience in a top-tier management consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent), OR prior experience in a Founder's Office or Chief of Staff role at a high-growth startup
- Track record of owning work end-to-end, not just contributing to it
Skills and traits
- Resourceful - you find a way, not an excuse
- Strong structured thinking; even stronger follow-through
- Comfortable in ambiguity; you create clarity rather than waiting for it
- Sharp written and verbal communication
- Low ego, high ownership
Why this role
- You'll see the direct impact of your work - not across six clients in a slide deck, but in a single product that will be your baby.
- You'll be a meaningful part of taking Fundwave from where it is to 10x its current scale - that journey is rare, and this seat is close to the centre of it.
- You'll learn how a product business actually runs: sales, product, ops, finance - not a slice of it, but all of it.
- Small team means real ownership. There's no committee between you and the decision.
- If you've spent years writing presentations for clients who implement them without you - this is the antidote
This role is probably not for you if...
- You want a clearly scoped job with a defined playbook from day one
- You prefer large team environments with structured career tracks
- You're more comfortable advising than doing
- You need external validation to move fast
