Role Summary - Derivatives Sales Trader
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Developing and executing sales of customized OTC derivatives risk-management solutions by conducting client visits, seminars, calls, and follow-ups.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and seminars, building the firm's reputation and network within the financial community.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, understanding their trading needs, and providing customized trading solutions.
- Serve as a primary point of contact, delivering tailored advice and sharing firm research, investment themes, and market strategies.
- Provide timely market colour, execution insights, trading ideas, and trend updates to support client decision-making.
Trading
- Oversee and execute client orders with precision, ensuring best execution across equity and derivative products.
- Advise clients on liquidity conditions, execution strategies, pricing dynamics, and market impact.
- Apply strong market acumen to identify, structure, and execute profitable trading opportunities aligned with client objectives.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Adhere to internal risk controls, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements across all trading activities.
- Maintain a robust understanding of market regulations, surveillance standards, and industry best practices.
New Business Development
- Identify and onboard new institutional clients while enhancing wallet share with existing relationships.
- Drive new business opportunities within the institutional segment to strengthen the firm's market positioning.
- Source, negotiate, and execute block trades to meet client requirements and enhance liquidity solutions.
Requirement Specification (Qualifications & Experience)
- Graduate degree in any discipline (Must have)
- Postgraduate degree/ MBA with exposure to capital markets, finance, or related areas (Good to have)
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management solutions (OTC derivatives) sales.
Skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Omnesys, algorithmic execution tools, and market data platforms.
- Strong exposure to block sourcing, execution strategies, and algorithmic trading workflows.
- High proficiency in trading systems, financial software, and analytical tools.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, ethical standards, responsiveness, and the ability to mentor junior talent.
