We are looking for a technical resource to support the migration and enhancement of an automated project status reporting tool. The existing solution is built on Power Automate, Power BI, and Excel, and is approximately 90% complete. The primary need is to migrate the data storage layer from Excel to a PostgreSQL database to improve performance, scalability, and historical data retention across a large portfolio of global projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Power Automate, and Power BI, with the ability to connect and configure data flows between the Power Platform and a relational database. Experience with Excel-to-database migration and data modeling is essential. The role also involves supporting the existing tool owner with related technical activities as the solution moves toward full deployment.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power Platform and Database Integration Specialist to support the enhancement and migration of an automated project status reporting solution currently built on Power Automate, Power BI, and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Migrate existing Excel-based data storage to a PostgreSQL database, ensuring data integrity and continuity
Integrate PostgreSQL with existing Power Automate workflows and Power BI dashboards
Optimize data architecture to support historical data retention and a large portfolio of global projects
Collaborate with the internal tool owner to support related technical activities and ensure a smooth transition
Troubleshoot and resolve data flow, connectivity, and performance issues post-migration
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI)
Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL database design, administration, and querying
Experience with Excel-to-relational database migration projects
Solid understanding of data modeling and ETL processes
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise-scale, multi-region project reporting tools
Familiarity with Power BI DirectQuery or live connection to PostgreSQL
