2. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

As Legal Counsel provides expert legal advice and support to an organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing legal risks, drafting and reviewing contracts, and representing the company in legal matters.

3. SCOPE

Knowledge: A Legal Counsel must have in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principles, along with the ability to interpret and apply them to the organization's operations.

Supervision: Typically, a Legal Counsel works under the direction of senior leadership or the General Counsel but may also supervise junior legal staff, ensuring the team's work aligns with legal standards and company policies.

Complexity: The role involves handling complex legal matters, including contract negotiation, risk management, compliance issues, and potentially representing the organization in litigation. It requires critical thinking and the ability to navigate intricate legal challenges.

5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Roles and Job Requirements

An India qualified lawyer with at least minimum 6 years PQE practical working experience in IT company in-house environment.

Strong knowledge and solid experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiation of technology contracts including but not limited to SaaS agreement, partner (channel/ reseller, VAR) agreement, vendor agreements and services agreement (SOW, M&S Agreement, SLA) in multiple APAC jurisdictions (India, Australia and Singapore).

  • Ensure company's privacy, data protection, AI governance, employment and corporate affairs are legally compliant.
  • Provide legal advice and support Human Resources for implementing internal HR policies and governances.
