- Conduct static, transient, linear, nonlinear, fatigue (LCF/HCF), thermal, and structural analyses of wind turbine components using ANSYS Workbench. Evaluate the structural integrity of components by analyzing stress, strain, displacement, and other relevant parameters under various load conditions.
- Interpret FEA results, identify potential areas for improvement, and propose design modifications to optimize component performance and reliability.
- Drive technical solutions and reviews with a design team and multiple sub-suppliers and solution providers.
- Investigate failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues in wind turbine components.
- Identify opportunities to improve FEA processes, documentation, and design methodologies.
- Prepare and document detailed reports summarizing the FEA analysis, results, and recommendations.
- Participate in hiring, training, mentoring, and reviewing junior engineers.
- Embrace a proactive approach to quality by adhering to best practices and QMS processes.
Work Experience
- Postgraduate degree holder in Mechanical engineering with over 10 years of professional experience. Proficiency in Finite Element (FE) tools such as ANSYS (Classic/workbench) is essential.
- Understanding of the structural design principles for large castings, welded structures, and forged components.
- Solid grasp of High Cycle Fatigue/Low Cycle Fatigue and fracture mechanics.
- Hands-on experience in performing analytical calculations for bolted/welded assemblies.
- Proficient in defining contacts, conducting Nonlinear analysis, and performing Buckling Analysis.
- Familiarity with certification requirements for components used in Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) or similar applications.
- Knowledge of International safety and mechanical design standards.
