Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer - PostgreSQL Specialist

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.

Develop and optimize PostgreSQL database objects, queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning activities.

Participate in database architecture discussions and solution design.

Analyze existing Oracle database applications and support migration/conversion to PostgreSQL.

Perform SQL query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution plan analysis.

Develop ETL/data integration solutions for enterprise applications.

Troubleshoot production database issues and provide performance improvements.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and DevOps teams.

Ensure database security, integrity, backup, and recovery best practices.

Create technical documentation, deployment scripts, and operational procedures.

Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience in

Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c)

PL/SQL programming

PostgreSQL development and administration concepts

Expertise in

Complex SQL queries

Stored procedures/functions

Query optimization and performance tuning

Database design and normalization

Experience with

Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects

Data modeling tools

Unix/Linux shell scripting

ETL processes and data pipelines

Knowledge of

Indexing strategies

Partitioning

Materialized views

Execution plans and explain analyze

Familiarity with

Git/SVN version control

CI/CD deployment processes

Agile/Scrum methodologies

Preferred Skills
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS/PostgreSQL, Azure, OCI)

Exposure to Python or Java-based backend systems

Knowledge of Liquibase/Flyway database versioning tools

Experience with performance monitoring tools

Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Relevant Oracle/PostgreSQL certifications are a plus.
