Responsibilities:

Staff Product Owneris Responsible fordefining Team Product Backlog of User Stories including backlog prioritization, refinement, and creation of acceptance criteria along with agreed upon definition of done. Has a proficient knowledge ofSAFeprinciples, Kanban, and Scrum including embracing agile principles and applyingleanagile mindset. Demonstrates critical thinking skills like Analytical, Problem Solving, Open-minded, creativity, etc. Sr. Product Owner is an expert in at least one Product/Domain area that guides, informs, and provides insight on product enhancements, maintenance, and efficiencies needed. Product Owners at this level can support the delivery of assigned Product Increment (PI)objectives.

  • Responsible for defining team product backlog of features, including backlog prioritization, refinement, and creating of acceptance criteria

  • Partner with the Product Manager to understand priorities and PI features and supports driving the Product Increment (PI)objectiveat the Team Level

  • Drives Iteration Goals and content via prioritized features and user stories

  • Product/Domain expert that guides, informs, and provides insight on what product enhancements, maintenance and efficiencies/remediation are needed

  • Ensures the technical integrity of the solution

  • Product decision maker including Functional and NFRs; accepts User Stories and Iteration Increments

  • Conducts impact analysis foroptimalproduct delivery

  • Ensures team risks and dependencies areidentifiedand managed

  • Collaborator of dependencies with the team, ProductManagerand other teams foroptimaldelivery outcomes

  • Use of metrics to assess team progress and areas for improvement

  • Leverages various Agile processes and planning tools

  • Supports DevOps and Security best practices

  • Instrumental role in the preparation of the system demo as well as producing the system demo

  • Attends and activelyparticipatesin Release Train Ceremonies: PI Planning, System Demo, ART Sync, and Inspect & Adapt when part of an ART

  • Attends and activelyparticipatesin Team Agile Ceremonies

  • Ensures feedback from System Demos Retrospectives and I&A workshops are taken back to teams forpossible inclusionin future continuous improvement activities

  • Enable the team to be empowered and self-regulated

Minimum qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience as a Product Owner in a technology environmentsupporting large complex project/product implementations, working directly with business owners toidentifyand prioritize their needs.

  • Proven knowledge of agilemethodology, scrum,SAFe, and agile tools (JIRA/Confluence)and working as part of an ART (Agile Release Train)

  • Experience with working withcomplex integrations in a retail environment, particularly workforce management, involving multiple applications and integration methods

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and making informed decisions quickly

  • Ability to collaborate well with a wide variety of peopleincluding,but not limited to, product managers,engineersandstakeholders

  • Experience in defining/prioritizing a team backlog of user stories including acceptance criteria.

  • Experience ofanalyzingcross functional business processes and defining integrated user stories

  • Experience inmanaging dependencies and shifting priorities in and across sprints /PIs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailoring to all audiences.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills anddemonstratedability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations

  • Degree or certification in IT or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aSAFeIT delivery model

  • Product Owner / Product Manager Certification (POPM) preferred

  • Knowledge of DevOps and Security best practices a benefit
