Job Title – Database Architect (PostgreSQL & Cloud Architecture)\nLocation: Hyderabad/Bangalore(Hybrid)\nJob Type : Fulltime\n** Immediate joiners or within 15 days**\n\nJob Description:\nOverview\nWe are seeking an experienced Database Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performing, and maintainable database architectures that support current and future business needs for enterprise web applications and cloud-native platforms.\nThe ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PostgreSQL database architecture , data modeling, performance optimization, scalability, high availability, security, and cloud-native database solution. This role will be responsible for designing enterprise-grade database systems with strong focus on data integrity, reliability, governance, disaster recovery, and modern web application architectures within GCP and cloud environments.\nThe Database Architect will collaborate closely with application architects, development team, DevOps engineer, and business stakeholders to deliver highly scalable and resilient database solution for mission-critical applications.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance PostgreSQL database architectures for enterprise web applications and cloud-native systems.\nDevelop logical and physical database models, including relational schema design, normalization/denormalization strategies, indexing, partitioning, and data integrity enforcement.\nArchitect highly available and fault-tolerant database environments using replication, clustering, failover, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.\nOptimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, caching mechanisms, connection pooling, and workload optimization.\nEnsure data consistency, transactional integrity, and concurrency management using PostgreSQL best practices and ACID-compliant designs.\nDesign and implement scalable database solutions supporting high-concurrency web applications and microservices-based architectures.\nEstablish security, governance, and compliance frameworks including RBAC, encryption, masking, audit logging, GDPR/CCPA compliance, and secure access controls.\nCollaborate with DevOps team to implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automated deployments, and database version control.\nImplement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions including Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), replication recovery, and business continuity planning.\nSupport cloud-native architectures and deployments on GCP and hybrid cloud environments.\nDesign monitoring, observability, alerting, and database health management solutions for production systems.\nWork closely with application teams to optimize API/database interactions, ORM usage, transaction boundaries, and distributed system integrations.\n\nTechnical Environment\nDatabase Technologies\nPostgreSQL\nPostgreSQL Replication & High Availability\nGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)\nCloud SQL for PostgreSQL\nGCP Networking & Security Services\nDatabase Normalization & Denormalization\nScalability & High Availability Design\nQuery Tuning and Indexing Strategies\nDatabase Monitoring & Observability\nCaching & Performance Engineering\nGitHub Actions and Docker / Kubernetes\nBackup & Disaster Recovery\nPostgreSQL Monitoring Tools\nAlerting & Logging Frameworks\n\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of experience in Database Architecture, Database Engineering, or Enterprise Application Data Design.\nStrong hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL database design, administration, and performance optimization.\nDeep understanding of relational database concepts, schema design, normalization, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.\nProven experience designing scalable, highly available, and secure database architectures for enterprise web applications.\nHands-on experience with PostgreSQL replication, failover strategies, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery planning.\nStrong understanding of database security, governance, compliance, and data integrity frameworks.\nExperience with GCP cloud services and cloud-native database deployments.\nExperience supporting microservices architectures, distributed systems, and modern web application platforms.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and DevOps practices for database deployments.\nStrong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and architectural leadership skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.\nGCP Cloud Certification or PostgreSQL Certification preferred.\nExperience with containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.\nFamiliarity with event-driven architectures, Kafka, or real-time streaming systems.\nExperience implementing enterprise-scale monitoring, observability, and database governance solutions.\nStrong understanding of modern cloud security and Zero Trust architecture principles.
