Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing content strategies that amplify our mission, increase visibility, and drive supporter engagement online. This is a unique opportunity to shape how the world sees and supports our work.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n1. Social Media Strategy & Execution\nDevelop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the NGO’s communications and fundraising goals.\nManage and grow presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging channels.\nPlan, schedule, and publish content using social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, etc.).\n2.
Content Creation & Storytelling\nCreate engaging content including graphics, short videos, carousels, reels, stories, and written posts that reflect our brand and mission.\nCollaborate with field teams to collect real stories, photos, and videos from project sites.\nDesign campaigns for key events, awareness days, and fundraising appeals.\n3. Community Management\nMonitor and engage with followers across platforms—responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, compassionate, and informative manner.\nFoster meaningful conversations around our cause and mobilize supporters into action (e.g., donations, volunteerism, advocacy).\n4. Analytics & Reporting\nTrack performance using platform insights and tools like Google Analytics.\nGenerate monthly reports on reach, engagement, growth, and impact to inform content strategy.\nUse data to continuously optimize content and posting schedules.\n5.
Collaboration & Coordination\nCoordinate with communications, fundraising, program, and design teams to align messaging and campaigns.\nSupport live coverage of events, field visits, and campaigns (online or on-site).\nEnsure all content aligns with the NGO’s tone, branding, and ethical storytelling guidelines.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.\n3–5 years of experience managing social media for an NGO, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.\nStrong portfolio showcasing original social content, campaigns, or engagement growth.\nDeep understanding of platform-specific trends, algorithms, and best practices.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in [primary language of the NGO].\nStrong visual and creative skills—advanced graphic designing and video editing experience preferred (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, etc.).\nPassion for social issues and ethical storytelling.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple platforms and deadlines.\nKnowledge of SEO, social advertising (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads), and influencer engagement is a plus.\n\nWork Environment\nOccasional travel to field locations or events may be required.\nOpportunity to grow into a larger digital marketing or communications role.\n\nHow to Apply\nPlease send your CV, a cover letter, and 2–3 samples of social media work (links or screenshots) to with the subject line: “ Application for Social Media Manager ” .
