Department - RBU-Power Reliability

Job Location - Faridabad

Minimum Work Experience - 2-6 Years

Educational / Technical Qualification : B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Electronics/ Power Electronics.

Overview / Objectives

• This position is responsible for design and development of Surge Protection Devices and Power Supplies


Professional Qualification:

• Experience in product design and development of SPD/Power electronics Products/Switchgear/Lightning & protection products.

Electrical/Mechanical Components design.

• Hands on experience on CREO/NX.

• 3D Design Concept generation, Design Analysis, Tolerance Stackup.

• Prototyping, Prototype Testing.

• 2D Drawings preparation, CTQs identifications.

• Design Release for Tooling, DFM, Component Sample inspections and Approval.

• Pilot lot Validation & testing, Third Party Certification Testing.

• Well Versed with IEC-61643-11 & IEC-61643-31 standards.

• Collaborate and coordination with Cross functional Teams.

Qualification (Professional)

CATIA, CREO, ANSYS, SolidWorks, LTspice, PSIM, PLECS


Special Requirements (if any)

• Basic knowledge of electronic components and their interfaces.

• Hands-on experience with surge generators, Hi-pot testers, thermal tests, and environmental chambers.

• Design Review Process



Strategic



  • Responsible to developed design and validate as per requirement.
  • Design complete SPD circuits including MOV, GDT, TVS, spark-gap, thermal disconnect, and OCPD coordination.
  • Develop designs for SPD categories (Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and PV/EV SPDs).
  • Perform LTspice/PSIM simulations for surge waveforms (8/20 µs, 10/350 µs, 1.2/50 µs) and clamping behaviour.
  • Select suitable components based on MCOV, TOV, Imax, In, and energy ratings.
  • Works with team members on creating the required product and carries responsibility to developed product and overall product success.


Operational


  • Ensure product compliance with:

IEC 61643-11 / 61643-31, UL 1449, IEC 61000‑4‑5, IEEE C62.41 / C62.45

  • Prepare technical files, BOM, SOPs, and certification documentation.
  • Prepare design documents, DFMEA, PFMEA, risk analysis, and DVP&R.
  • Support third‑party lab certifications and customer audits.
  • Support production with design transfer, tooling, and process validation.
  • Provide technical training to QC, production, and sales engineering teams.
  • Assist in troubleshooting field failures and conducting root-cause analysis
