Functional Lead - IT Business Applications

Role Overview\nThe Application Manager will be responsible for the end‑to‑end ownership of a sales‑operated digital and mobile application that supports sales‑assisted journeys such as pre‑sales, customer onboarding, proposal creation, and servicing. The role will work closely with Sales, Operations, IT teams, and external vendors to drive application enhancements, ensure platform stability, manage cloud operations on Microsoft Azure, and enable strong adoption by front‑line sales users.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and manage the application roadmap, backlog, and enhancements for a sales‑operated digital and mobile platform (mobile APK and web).\nTranslate business requirements into functional and technical specifications and prioritize delivery based on business value and user impact.\nManage application delivery using Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies, as appropriate.\nParticipate in Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.\nCoordinate the end‑to‑end application lifecycle including development, testing, releases, and post‑production support.\nOversee application hosting and operations on Microsoft Azure, ensuring performance, availability, and cost efficiency.\nManage vendors and internal IT teams, track SLAs, and ensure timely resolution of issues and change requests.\nWork with business stakeholders to continuously improve user experience and adoption for sales users.\nEnsure security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance, especially for customer and sales data.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nExperience managing sales‑facing mobile and web applications in a business‑critical environment.\nStrong understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud (App Services, APIs, Functions, Storage, PaaS databases).\nWorking knowledge of Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall development methodologies.\nHands‑on experience with project and agile management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.\nUnderstanding of REST APIs, system integrations, and cloud‑based architectures.\nExposure to Life Insurance or Financial Services domain and sales/onboarding journeys is preferred.\n\nExperience & Qualifications\n\n10–14 years of experience in application management, digital delivery, or product ownership roles\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT / MCA or equivalent\nAzure or Agile certifications are a plus\n\nAdditional Competencies\n\nStrong stakeholder and vendor management skills\nOwnership mindset with ability to drive outcomes end‑to‑end\nClear communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities\nAbility to work effectively in a fast‑paced digital environment\n\nFollowing System Exposure Preferred –\nCustomer Onboarding Systems\nIntegrations with regulators – EKYC+ CKYC + CIBIL + VABWC + Penny Drop\nDocument Management System – Newgen or OpenText\nFamiliarity with RECON financial system\nAPI integrations & RPA ( Automation Anywhere etc)\nCloud – Azure capability\nUnderstandings of DR /BCP ( application replication tools)\n\nNice to Have:\nExposure in AI & Agentic AI tools
