Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB MYP Mathematics Teacher to deliver engaging, inquiry-based, and concept-driven mathematics instruction for Grades 6–10. The successful candidate will prepare students for the transition into the IB Diploma Programme Mathematics pathways: Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Applications & Interpretation (AI), while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application skills.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework. Develop students' understanding of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, statistics, probability, and mathematical modeling. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Integrate technology and real-world applications into mathematics learning. Foster inquiry, conceptual understanding, and analytical thinking.Curriculum Planning
Design and implement MYP unit planners aligned with key concepts, related concepts, global contexts, and ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills. Ensure alignment with IB standards and practices. Collaborate on interdisciplinary learning experiences.Assessment & Reporting
Develop formative and summative assessments aligned with MYP criteria. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents. Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions.Student Support
Mentor and guide students academically and personally. Support students in selecting and preparing for DP Mathematics AA and AI pathways. Encourage independent learning, resilience, and mathematical curiosity.Collaboration & Professional Development
Work collaboratively with the Mathematics Department and MYP team. Participate in curriculum development, parent conferences, school events, and professional learning activities. Contribute to the implementation of the IB philosophy and learner profile attributes.Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field. B. Ed. or recognized teaching qualification preferred. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Mathematics. Experience teaching IB MYP, IGCSE, Cambridge, or other international curricula preferred. Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and IB assessment practices. Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.Desired Skills
