Job Summary

The Godown Incharge is responsible for managing all warehouse (godown) operations, including receipt, storage, issuance, inventory control, record maintenance, and dispatch of materials. The role ensures proper stock management, accuracy of records, and timely availability of materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day godown operations.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery challans.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory registers.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and preservation of materials.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excess inventory.
• Coordinate material dispatches to sites and customers as per requirements.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips (MIS), and stock reports.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the godown.
• Manage loading and unloading activities.
• Coordinate with procurement, accounts, and site teams regarding material movement.
• Maintain records in Excel/ERP software as applicable.
• Lead and supervise warehouse helpers and loaders.

Requirements

• Graduate or Diploma holder preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in warehouse/godown/store management.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic computer operations.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of ERP/Inventory Management Software.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.

Reporting To

• Stores Manager / Operations Manager / Admin Head

Salary

• As per company standards and candidate experience.

Note: Candidate should be willing to travel occasionally for stock verification at different locations/sites if required.
