Design the Next Generation of Play Experiences\nSportainment Engineering and Design (SED) is looking for an experienced and creative Product Designer to join our growing team.\n\nIn this role, you will design and develop innovative attractions and equipment for Family Entertainment Centres (FECs) , including:\nTrampoline Parks\nNinja Courses\nIndoor Play Areas\nClimbing Structures\nAdventure Attractions\nActive Entertainment Concepts\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a designer who enjoys combining creativity, user experience, engineering principles, and commercial thinking to bring engaging products from concept to reality.\n\nAbout Us\nSportainment Engineering and Design is a leading design and engineering company specializing in active entertainment, leisure, and recreational facilities.\nWe work with clients worldwide to create safe, innovative, and commercially successful attractions that inspire movement, fun, and unforgettable experiences.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nProduct Design & Development\nDesign innovative FEC attractions and recreational equipment based on market trends and client requirements\nDevelop concepts, layouts, mock-ups, and detailed designs using tools such as AutoCAD and SketchUp\nCreate engaging indoor and outdoor play experiences that balance creativity, functionality, and user experience\nContribute to the development of new products and attraction concepts\n\nEngineering & Manufacturing Integration\nEnsure designs are optimized for manufacturing, assembly, durability, and cost efficiency\nSelect appropriate materials based on performance, safety, and commercial requirements\nCollaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout the development process\n\nSafety & Compliance\nDesign products in accordance with international safety standards, including ASTM and EN requirements\nConduct risk assessments and integrate safety considerations into all design stages\nEnsure products meet quality, performance, and compliance expectations\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Sales, Marketing, Design, and Project teams\nSupport client proposals through conceptual layouts, visual presentations, and design solutions\nParticipate in client discussions and project development activities\n\nResearch & Innovation\nStay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products\nConduct market research and contribute to innovation initiatives\nIdentify opportunities to enhance product performance and customer experience\n\nPrototyping & Testing\nSupport prototype development and testing activities\nEvaluate product performance and user feedback\nRefine and improve designs through iterative development\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's Degree in Product Design or a related field\nExperience\n5 to 12+ years of experience in Product Design\nExperience within Family Entertainment Centres, playgrounds, recreational products, sports equipment, or structural systems is highly desirable\nProven track record of bringing products from concept through manufacturing\n\nRequired Skills\nDesign & Engineering\nStrong understanding of design principles and ergonomics\nKnowledge of structural design concepts\nExpertise in materials and manufacturing processes\nAbility to develop practical and manufacturable solutions\n\nSoftware\nAutoCAD\nSketchUp\nAdobe Illustrator\n\nIndustry Knowledge\nMarket trends and customer expectations\nEmerging technologies and innovation practices\nProduct development methodologies\n\nProfessional Skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\nAbility to collaborate effectively across Sales, Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams\nStrong attention to detail and project ownership mindset\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems\nKnowledge of international safety standards for recreational and amusement equipment\nExperience in entertainment, leisure, playground, or active recreation industries\n\nWhy Join SED ?\nWork on innovative projects that impact millions of visitors worldwide\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary international teams\nShape the future of active entertainment and recreational experiences\nBe involved from concept creation through product realization\nContribute to exciting and fast-growing global markets\n\nIf you are passionate about creating engaging experiences through great design and want to help shape the future of Family Entertainment Centres, we'd love to hear from you.
