Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Network Management:
• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance.
• Configure and manage IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Monitor network performance and security using appropriate tools.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, MPLS, and Internet technologies.
• Set up and troubleshoot site-to-site and client VPNs for secure remote access.
• Exposure to Nginx.
System Administration:
• Manage Linux-based systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
• Implement updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex system issues.
Automation and DevOps:
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage their lifecycle.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible.
Cloud Technologies:
• Work with various cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) to deploy and manage applications and infrastructure.
General:
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless operation of IT services.
• Adhere to security best practices and company policies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 + years of experience in network and systems administration.
• Strong understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
• Experience with Linux system administration.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with Ansible automation and configuration management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Basic Python coding experience.
• Experience in a data centre environment is preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
