Lead ServiceNow Developer – SAM (Software Asset Management)

Market Rate Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer with strong expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) to design, implement, and optimize software asset lifecycle processes. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance, license optimization, and effective software governance across the organization.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation and enhancement of ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions
• Design and manage software asset lifecycle processes including procurement, entitlement, usage, and reclamation
• Configure and customize SAM modules such as license management, normalization, and reconciliation
• Implement software compliance tracking and audit readiness processes
• Integrate ServiceNow with discovery tools, procurement systems, and third-party applications
• Work with Software Discovery, CMDB, and ITSM modules to ensure data accuracy
• Optimize license usage and reduce software costs through effective governance
• Configure workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies
• Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform
• Expertise in Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM)
• Experience with license models, compliance, and software audits
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting
• Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP, MID Server)
• Strong understanding of CMDB and ITSM processes
• Knowledge of software publishers (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc.) licensing models
• Familiarity with ITIL framework
