Essential Job Functions:
- LookML Development: Proficiency in LookML to evaluate and optimize complex Explores (like the ""sales and waste"" Explore), implement period-over-period analysis, and utilize native functionality such as Views, Persistent Derived Tables (PDTs), and Explores.
- Advanced Data Modeling: Ability to resolve complex multi-fact data modeling challenges and combine fact tables at different grains into a robust, sustainable solution.
- BigQuery Architecture: Expertise in optimizing data structures for BigQuery, including leveraging partition keys, minimizing data movement, and ensuring query efficiency for slot-based billing.
- Technical Architecture Design: Experience in establishing standardized reference architectures and creating technical design documents that include best practices and repeatable frameworks
- Cost Management & Optimization: Ability to review design implementations for cost-effectiveness and align them with specific billing models (e.g., transition to slot-based billing).
- Liquid Coding: Familiarity with Liquid code to evaluate existing implementations and minimize its use in favor of native Looker functionality.
- Technical Advisory & Mentoring: Skills to guide other development teams on creating maintainable Explores and adhering to organizational standards.
- Analytical Collaboration: Proficiency in working with analytical architects and data teams to perform deep-dive analyses and architecture evaluations.
