About The Job:
- The Hardware Engineer is responsible for end-to-end electronics design and validation of industrial mission-critical products with focus on EMI EMC compliance, intrinsic safety, and hazardous area certifications (ATEX, IECEx flameproof/explosion-proof).
- The role also oversees the PMC portfolio Program Portfolio management of products and market certifications ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards across target markets.
Essential Job Functions:
Electronics Design Development
- Own schematic design, component selection, and PCB stack-up/layout guidelines for analog, digital, mixed-signal, power (DCDC, LDO), signal conditioning, sensors, and interfaces (RS-485, CAN, Ethernet, SPI I2C UART).
- Perform tolerance analysis, derating, DFMEA, and design-for-reliability (MTBF, environmental).
- Guide PCB layout for EMI EMC robustness, creepage clearance, shielding, grounding, and segregation of IS circuits.
- Define and execute EMI EMC plans, pre-compliance, and formal testing to standards such as CISPR 11 22 32, IEC EN 61000-4-x (EFT Surge ESD), IEC 61326, FCC CE.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for emissions/immunity failures.
- Design and document intrinsically safe (IS) circuits and/or flameproof explosion-proof assemblies to ATEX IECEx requirements (Ex i, Ex d).
- Collaborate with certification bodies for test plans, technical files, and audits.
- Develop V&V plans, test procedures, and coverage.
- Manage design reviews, EVT DVT PVT builds, FA FRACAS, and continuous improvement.
- Own product and certification portfolio roadmap, planning, budgeting, and tracking approvals.
- Drive cross-functional execution across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Compliance.
- Industrialization support DFMA DFA, test coverage, fixture specifications, process validations.
- Work with CMs EMS on PPAP FAI and quality improvements.
- Maintain schematics, BoMs, layouts, DFMEAs, reports, and Technical Construction Files.
