Flight Dispatcher
Job Description
Responsibilities Conduct flight planning including route analysis, weather evaluation, NOTAMs, fuel planning, alternates, MEL/CDL considerations, and performance limitations. Monitor flights from dispatch release to arrival, maintaining continuous situational awareness. Communicate proactively with flight crew, OCC, and ground teams on operational developments.
Support IROPs resolution within own span of control and escalate as required. Executes flight planning and operational dispatch activities strictly within defined company procedures, systems, and approved authorization frameworks. Ensures timely escalation of operational irregularities, disruptions, or safety-related concerns to the Dispatch Manager or designated authority.
Maintains continuous coordination with OCC teams to ensure alignment of operational decisions with centralized flight control requirements. Supports real-time monitoring of flight operations and communicates relevant updates to OCC stakeholders in accordance with established reporting channels. Ensures accuracy and consistency of flight planning outputs by strictly following approved regulatory, operational, and company standards.
Assists OCC functions by ensuring smooth operational continuity during shift transitions through structured handover and documentation processes. Identifies and reports operational inefficiencies, data discrepancies, or system issues through defined escalation and reporting mechanisms. Ensures full compliance with OCC governance structure, maintaining adherence to defined roles, responsibilities, and decision-making boundaries.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or diploma in Aviation, Aeronautical Studies, or related field preferred. Valid Flight Dispatcher License issued or recognized by DGCA or equivalent. Demonstrated competency in independent flight planning and IROPs handling.
Individual contributor role with full accountability for assigned flights. Decisions made independently within regulatory and company frameworks. Proficient in Flight Planning system, Flight Monitoring system, NOTAM system, weather systems, email, ACARS.
Fluent in English Language. Ability to work in a 24/7 shift-based OCC environment. Required Skills With 3 years of experience in airline flight dispatch or OCC operations is preferred.
