The role involves architecting, customizing, and maintaining complex financial applications using CA 2E (Synon) and native RPG on IBM i (AS/400).\nThe candidate will act as the Level 3 SME, lead critical incident resolutions, govern Synon model integrity, and drive development initiatives for Mortgage and Motor Finance business lines.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership & Governance\nAct as the primary offshore SME for the Aries platform\nGovern CA 2E (Synon) data models and maintain model integrity\nEnsure adherence to action diagram standards and generation protocols\nComplex Development\nArchitect and develop complex RPG programs generated from Synon models\nSupport Mortgage and Motor Finance business enhancements\nP1 Incident Management\nHandle critical P1 incidents and severe batch failures\nEnsure rapid troubleshooting and service restoration\nNative RPG Development\nDevelop, debug, and optimize ILE RPG / Free-format RPG programs\nWork on integrations outside Synon-generated applications\nDatabase & Performance Optimization\nOptimize DB2/400 database structures and embedded SQL\nImprove overnight batch processing performance\nKnowledge Transition\nDrive KT sessions from retiring SMEs\nCreate architecture diagrams, runbooks, and technical documentation\nChange Management\nReview and approve code/model changes before production deployment\nEnsure zero-defect releases and compliance with banking SLAs\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n8+ years of strong hands-on experience in IBM i (AS/400) development\n5+ years of extensive experience with CA 2E (Synon)\nStrong expertise in:\nRPG IV\nILE RPG\nFree-format RPG\nCL Programming\nStrong understanding of:\nMortgage lifecycle\nMotor Finance processes\nInterest calculations\nArrears and reporting\nExperience supporting legacy Green Screen / Black Screen applications\nAdvanced knowledge of:\nDB2/400\nEmbedded SQL\nSQL Server integration\nPerformance tuning\nExperience with ALM and Change Management tools:\nTurnOver\nImplementer\nAldon\n\nPreferred / Nice to Have\nExperience in SME transition environments\nExposure to modernization of Synon/RPG applications:\nAPI Enablement\nWeb Wrappers\nSOA\nITIL V3 / V4 Foundation Certification\nFamiliarity with Jira or Affinity ticketing tools
