Job Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic – III is responsible for executing & monitoring maintenance activities across Machines, plant utilities, including HVAC systems, diesel generators (DG), compressors, this role operates at an engineer level, ensuring high equipment reliability, preventive maintenance compliance, and minimal downtime through proactive troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Daily Maintenance Operations
Execute daily maintenance tasks for plant equipment and utilities. Monitor machine performance and ensure smooth operations. Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions. Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and reports.
HVAC System Management
Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems (AHU, chiller, cooling towers, ducting). Ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and air quality standards. Perform preventive maintenance and filter replacement schedules. Monitor energy consumption and optimize system efficiency.
Electrical Utilities & Equipment
Oversee operation and maintenance of Diesel Generators (DG sets), Air Compressors, and electrical panels and distribution systems. Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. Coordinate electrical fault rectification and preventive maintenance.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules. Analyze equipment failure trends and recommend corrective actions. Support predictive maintenance initiatives such as vibration and thermal checks.
Troubleshooting & Breakdown Management
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues. Ensure minimal downtime through quick response and resolution. Coordinate with vendors or internal teams for complex repairs.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to safety standards, electrical regulations, and company policies. Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures. Maintain compliance documentation and audit readiness.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance activities. Supervise contractor work and ensure quality standards. Validate work completion and service reports.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for energy saving and process improvement. Participate in reliability improvement and cost optimization initiatives. Support automation and efficiency projects.
Candidate Desired profile:
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in maintenance (manufacturing / plant utilities). Hands-on experience in HVAC, DG sets, compressors, and electrical systems.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and utilities management, electrical systems and power distribution, diesel generator operations, and industrial air compressors. Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Soft Skills
Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Strong troubleshooting skills. Team coordination and leadership capability. Good communication and reporting skills.
