Our client is a well-established National group of companies and provider to the electrical industry, with a strong presence in the Industrial and Construction sectors. Due to continued company growth, the Switchboard Manufacturing company have new opportunities to join their business.
Based in Bribsnae's inner suburbs, this large team of industry experts specialise in electrical engineering for Government, Heavy Industry, Food and Utilities. This is a National professional and stable business boasting over 50 years of successful operation and consistent growth, with a strong focus on building strong relationships with their valued clients.
Their product range includes Australian-designed and manufactured LV and HV power distribution products. Managing client needs in-house, from design and sheet metal fabrication to assembly, testing, installation, and project management, across our three manufacturing facilities across Australia.

Workshop Foreman - Switchboard Manufacturing

About the Role

  • Lead and facilitate daily pre-start meetings while supervising and providing leadership to Leading Hands, Apprentices, Labour Hire personnel, Electricians, Trade Assistants, and Storepersons.
  • Develop, maintain, and update production schedules, labour schedules, and operational spreadsheets to support efficient workflow management.
  • Coordinate and manage daily labour allocation and workforce documentation, including employee timesheets, sick leave, annual leave, and resource utilization across active projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day production queries, providing guidance and solutions to issues arising on the factory floor.
  • Maintain visibility and oversight of all projects, liaising closely with Project Managers to provide updates on job status, production challenges, resource requirements, and project timelines.
  • Drive productivity, efficiency, and workplace safety, monitoring performance to reduce waste, enforcing company quality standards, and working with the Production Manager to achieve business objectives.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Relevant electrical trade qualification is highly regarded.
  • Proven experience working within an electrical switchboard manufacturing or similar workshop environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Foreman, Supervisor, or Leading Hand role managing workshop personnel.
  • Proficiency in using operational spreadsheets and production scheduling tools.
  • Strong communication skills to lead daily pre-starts and collaborate directly with Project Managers and clients.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early morning starts.
