Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization's financial strategy, business planning, capital management, investor engagement, banking relationships, and corporate governance framework. The CFO will serve as a key member of the leadership team, driving sustainable growth, profitability, financial discipline, and long-term value creation while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective stakeholder management.


Key Responsibilities / KRAs

1. Financial Strategy & Business Planning

  • Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team on long-term growth plans, investments, and expansion initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive annual operating plans, business forecasting, and profitability improvement initiatives.

2. Working Capital Management

  • Lead working capital optimization across receivables, payables, inventory, and cash conversion cycles.
  • Monitor liquidity requirements and ensure adequate funding for business operations.
  • Establish controls and processes to improve cash flow efficiency and reduce capital lock-up.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance return on capital employed (ROCE).

3. Banking & Financial Institution Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, and lending partners.
  • Lead negotiations related to working capital facilities, term loans, project financing, and other funding requirements.
  • Evaluate financing structures and funding alternatives to support business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with banking covenants and reporting requirements.

4. Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary financial interface with investors, promoters, board members, private equity partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present business performance updates, financial outlooks, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support fundraising activities, investment discussions, and due diligence processes.
  • Drive transparent communication and build investor confidence.

5. Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to all statutory, regulatory, corporate, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Strengthen corporate governance frameworks and internal financial controls.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
  • Lead enterprise risk identification, assessment, and mitigation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with legal, secretarial, taxation, and compliance teams to ensure organizational compliance.

6. Strategic Fund Raising & Capital Structure

  • Evaluate capital requirements and recommend optimal capital structure strategies.
  • Support equity raising, debt raising, strategic investments, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Participate in valuation exercises, transaction structuring, and financial due diligence activities.
  • Drive initiatives that improve enterprise value and shareholder returns.

7. Business Performance & Commercial Finance

  • Monitor business performance against budgets and strategic goals.
  • Establish financial KPIs and performance dashboards for leadership review.
  • Identify opportunities for margin enhancement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support commercial decision-making through financial analysis and business insights.

8. Board & Leadership Support

  • Prepare financial and strategic presentations for the Board and senior leadership.
  • Provide recommendations on investment decisions, expansion plans, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on financial and business matters.



Requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Chartered Accountant
  • 15–20 years of progressive leadership experience in finance.
  • Proven experience in financial strategy, working capital management, banking relations, investor relations, compliance, and fundraising.
  • Strong exposure to interactions with banks, financial institutions, investors, private equity firms, and boards.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting business growth, profitability enhancement, and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
