About the Role Unbxd, part of the Netcore family, is a leading AI-powered eCommerce product discovery platform that enables retailers to deliver intelligent search, personalized recommendations, and seamless shopping experiences. Our platform processes billions of shopper interactions daily, helping global retailers enhance product discovery, increase conversions, and drive revenue growth. We are looking for a Lead Engineer to own the architecture and evolution of our Platform — the distributed systems and AI/ML infrastructure that power every product surface.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will lead a team of engineers, set the technical direction across distributed systems and AI/ML platforms, and write production code for the most critical components yourself. The platform you own runs at scale: high-throughput Java/Go microservices, large-scale data pipelines, and AI-powered systems serving billions of interactions daily.

What You'll Own

• Architecture and roadmap for the Platform — distributed systems, data pipelines, AI/ML infrastructure, and scalability layers powering production SaaS products.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team. Run design reviews, raise the engineering bar on code quality, observability, and on-call practices, and partner with product and business on roadmap.
• Hands-on design and development of high-throughput, fault-tolerant distributed services in Java, Go, and Python.
• Drive adoption of AI/ML models and intelligent systems within the product architecture — collaborating with data and ML teams to deploy and scale AI-powered capabilities.
• Define engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices across the platform.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct system performance analysis and drive reliability improvements across the platform.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in backend engineering and distributed systems design.
• Strong programming expertise in Java / Go / Python.
• Proven experience building large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of scalability, reliability, and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native platforms.
• Strong understanding of system design, performance optimization, and scalability patterns.
• Experience working with high-volume data processing systems.
• Exposure to AI/ML platforms or machine learning model integration (preferred).
• Experience deploying ML-powered services into production environments.
• Knowledge of information retrieval systems is a plus.
• Strong technical leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and system design thinking.
