A leading global education group is seeking an experienced Head of Technology to lead its India technology function. This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic technology executive who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional people leadership and operational delivery skills.

You will be responsible for driving technology strategy, leading large-scale teams, delivering enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and ensuring technology services support the organisation's ambitious growth plans.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee the India technology function, acting as a key bridge between local and global teams while ensuring the successful delivery of technology programmes, operational excellence and innovation.

This role requires a leader who can operate strategically while maintaining a strong focus on execution, governance and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large-scale technology function, fostering a high-performance culture

• Drive the successful delivery of enterprise technology projects and transformation programmes

• Establish robust governance, reporting frameworks and performance metrics

• Ensure the reliability, performance and security of technology systems and infrastructure

• Partner with business leaders to align technology initiatives with strategic objectives

• Build, mentor and develop high-performing technology teams

• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence across the function

• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on technology investments and priorities

• Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency, alignment and best practice adoption

• Oversee technology operations, service delivery and enterprise platforms

About You

• 15+ years' experience in senior technology leadership positions

• Proven experience leading and managing teams of 100+ technology professionals

• Strong track record delivering large-scale technology and digital transformation programmes

• Experience operating within complex, global organisations

• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

• Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

• Experience developing and scaling high-performing teams

Technical Expertise

• Enterprise applications and business systems

• Cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure

• Enterprise integrations and data platforms

• IT service delivery and operational excellence

• Technology governance and risk management

• Digital transformation and modernisation programmes

Desirable Experience

• Global delivery models and distributed technology teams

• ITIL, TOGAF, Agile or similar governance and delivery frameworks

• Education, professional services or multinational environments

• Large-scale organisational transformation initiatives
