What Do We Expect From You:

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative development team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering exceptional, high-performance user interfaces for our cloud-native telco platform. You will own the end-to-end frontend experience — from architecture and component design to testing, accessibility, and performance optimisation. We are looking for an individual who not only excels in hands-on frontend development but also demonstrates a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to elevating technical standards. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, drive frontend architecture discussions, and contribute significantly to our technical roadmap and best practices.

Required Skills & Expertise:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of our development team, responsible for delivering world-class user interfaces and driving frontend engineering excellence. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA teams to translate complex requirements into intuitive, scalable, and accessible web applications.

Architectural Leadership: Participate in and lead frontend architecture discussions, contributing to the overall technology roadmap and ensuring the scalability, maintainability, and performance of our UI systems.

UI Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, with strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+). Experience with React.js is highly beneficial.

Component & Design System: Build and maintain reusable, well-documented component libraries and contribute to a consistent design system that accelerates team delivery.

State Management: Implement robust client-side state management solutions (e.g., Redux, MobX, Zustand, or React Context API) to manage complex application states reliably.

Performance Optimisation: Profile and optimise frontend performance including bundle sizes, rendering efficiency, lazy loading, code splitting, and Core Web Vitals metrics.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, QA, and DevOps teams to gather requirements, provide constructive feedback, and ensure successful product delivery.

• API Integration: Integrate frontend applications seamlessly with RESTful APIs and GraphQL services, handling data fetching, error states, and loading patterns with care.

Testing & Quality: Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and reusable code. Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress. Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high quality standards.

Accessibility & Standards: Ensure all UI components and pages meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and are cross-browser and cross-device compatible.

• Mentorship & Growth: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior frontend engineers, fostering their growth and contributing to a collaborative and continuous learning environment.

• Innovation & Trends : Stay abreast of the latest frontend industry trends, tools, and best practices, proactively applying them to enhance our applications and development workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• 4–8 years of progressive experience in frontend web development.

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), with a solid understanding of web fundamentals, browser rendering, and the DOM.

• Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue.js); experience with React.js and its ecosystem (React Router, Hooks, Context API) is highly beneficial.

• Familiarity with TypeScript for large-scale application development.

• Experience with React.js advanced patterns including Server-Side Rendering (SSR) or Static Site Generation (SSG) using frameworks such as Next.js /Remix/ Vue / Angular.

• Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux, MobX, Zustand, or equivalent.

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints.

• Strong understanding of responsive design, CSS pre-processors (e.g., SASS/SCSS), and CSS-in-JS solutions.

• Solid knowledge of frontend build tools and module bundlers (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Rollup).

• Experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Mocha, or Cypress.

• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• Knowledge of web performance optimisation techniques and Core Web Vitals.

• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex UI/UX decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Experience building or contributing to a component library or design system.

• Knowledge of micro-frontend architectures and module federation.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and cloud deployment workflows.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for frontend applications (e.g., Sentry, Datadog RUM, New Relic).

• Understanding of backend concepts and API design to facilitate effective cross-team collaboration.

• Experience with data visualisation libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts).

• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small frontend technical initiatives.
