IT/OT Cyber & Network Engineer\n\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT/OT Cyber & Network Engineer to join our ENGIE India team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical IT-OT and networking background and be prepared for extensive site travels to support onsite issues during the implementation, commissioning, post-commissioning, migration and M&A operations of solar and wind power plants, while base location will be Pune, India.\n\nMain Objectives\nThe IT/OT Cyber & Network Engineer for Renewable Sites will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of renewable energy plant operations. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining integrated systems that support the seamless operation of renewable and flex energy sites.

The engineer will ensure robust and secured data communication, real-time monitoring, and control systems, while adhering to industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition ( SCADA ) systems, IT-OT integration , and strong networking skills . Additionally, strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions are essential.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSystem Monitoring and Maintenance:\nOversee and optimize the technical IT-OT operations of renewable energy production infrastructures (solar, wind, etc.), ensuring efficient operations.\nMonitor and manage the troubleshooting of any IT-OT issues happening on renewables and flex farms with central support and/or subcontractors.\n\nSCADA Systems Management:\nEnsure the proper follow-up on the maintenance plan for SCADA systems, including troubleshooting and managing issues related to cabling, optic fibre.\nHandle level 1 troubleshooting of the SCADA system and manage the troubleshooting of any OT issues at renewables and flex sites.\n\nCybersecurity Management:\nCollaborate with management and the CISO team to implement OT cybersecurity controls, including network segmentation, access control, and monitoring strategies\nSupport IT/OT risk management activities by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and contributing to mitigation plans aligned with ENGIE standards\nEnsure IT/OT systems support emergency response procedures in coordination with O&M, including secure fallback modes and continuity of operations\nContribute to the implementation and follow-up of cybersecurity measures such as:\n- network segmentation (zones and conduits)\n- firewall rule enforcement\n- secure remote access for third-party vendors\nSupport vulnerability management activities (asset identification, patching coordination, remediation tracking) in OT environment\nCoordinate with O&M and the stakeholders for the procurement, inventory, and lifecycle management of IT/OT and SCADA equipment.\n\nIT System Management:\nProvide Level 1/2 support on IT/OT systems, including SCADA, servers, network devices, and industrial communication infrastructure\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial network infrastructure ( switching , routing , VLANs ) ensuring reliable and secure operations\nResponsible for the obsolescence follow-up process (including management and patching).\nEnsure the compliance of IT/OT-related contractors working on-site with ENGIE guidelines.\nReport any IT-OT related abnormalities, incidents, or process deviations spotted while monitoring the systems.\nEnsure that all IT/OT equipment (servers, control systems, SCADA, communication devices, etc.) complies with ENGIE and regulatory standards.\nRegularly interact with the O&M department to align IT/OT systems with broader ENGIE protocols and stay updated on the latest regulations.\nProvide hands-on management of Network devices and systems\nManage support activities of external providers for the delivery of network services and project tasks\nManage network systems to ensure compliance is maintained with cybersecurity policies\nProvide input into the risk management programme ensuring that Information Technology systems Disaster Recovery plans - include network services and other network elements.\nIn the event of a cybersecurity incident perform tasks as directed by CISO\nCoordinate with technology and business groups to assess, implement, and monitor IT-related security risks/hazards\nReport security performance against established security metrics\n\nTechnical Knowledge and Skills:\nStrong understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) including PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and IPC, PPC.\nSolid knowledge of OT network architecture, including:\n- network segmentation (Purdue model, zones and conduits)\n- industrial communication flows (northbound / southbound)\n- separation of critical systems (SCADA, PLC, Safety, Substation, CCTV, etc.)\nHands-on experience in industrial networking :\n- switching, routing, VLANs\n- network troubleshooting in OT environments\n- basic redundancy concepts (ring, PRP/HSR is a plus)\nGood understanding of industrial communication protocols:\n- Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, Profinet\n- awareness of protocol security implications\nExperience with OT cybersecurity fundamentals:\n- network segmentation and traffic control\n- firewall rule definition and management\n- secure remote access (VPN, bastion/jump server concepts)\nBasic knowledge of Windows Server and virtualization environments in OT (VMware, patching constraints\nFamiliarity with vulnerability management in OT environments:\n- asset identification\n- patching coordination\n- compensating security measures\nUnderstanding of OT networking, OT network components, communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC/UA, TCP/IP, Profinet, and OT server and storage components.\nKnowledge of industry standards and frameworks like ISA95/IEC 62443, Purdue Model\nAbility to work cross-functionally with IT, OT, SCADA, and cybersecurity team\n\nQualifications and Experience:\nDiploma/Degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience managing a complex IT and/or OT system.\n5-10 years of experience in IT/OT systems, preferably in the renewable energy sector.\nStrong knowledge of SCADA architecture is mandatory.\nExperience with SCADA systems, cybersecurity, and IT support.\nWillingness to travel extensively to various sites for onsite support .\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.\nFlexible mindset, able to work outside the comfort zone.\nCertifications CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Certified Automation Professional (Desirable not mandatory)\n\nBehavioural Competencies\nCustomer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.\nAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.\nAdaptable to changing priorities and flexible to work outside regular hours when required to meet timelines.\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nExtensive travel to ENGIE sites across India region for technical issues, field visits, IT-OT implementation.

Base location is Pune, India.\nRequires extended periods of concentration, technical hands-on work, and the ability to operate office equipment.\nWalking, bending, or physical activity may be required during site visits.\n\nLocation and Reporting:\nLocation: Pune , India (extensive travel across the region to support sites.
