Visit springer.com and follow @Springer1842\nAbout the Role\nThis role involves building and maintaining strong global networks with conference organizers, authors, and institutions. You will manage a portfolio of open access books, assessing proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring editorial policies are applied consistently.

Collaboration with international teams and representing Atlantis Press at external events are key aspects, alongside achieving publishing and business development goals.\nKey tasks :\n· Actively build up, and maintain a large network with conference organisers and scientific committee members globally;\n· Deliver competitive and profitable products in line with the open access books strategy by assessing and developing publishing proposals on the basis of market feedback;\n· Meet goals set by editorial management such as contracts signed and titles published within portfolio managed per year;\n· Negotiate contract terms with customers in scientific and industrial communities;\n· Ensure that editorial policies and processes are consistently applied across their own portfolio/teams, and maximise the efficiency of the Atlantis Press portfolio;\n· Work closely with global books team and other Springer Nature in-house teams to develop international projects/initiatives and provide local support;\n· Join up the internal and external communication and marketing activities for Atlantis Press, together with Editorial Director and other management team;\n· Represent Atlantis Press as Ambassador at external events, seminars, conferences, round tables and individual meetings with external parties when needed;\n· Business travel (domestic/international) as required;\nKey relationships :\n· Global conference organizers and book authors;\n· Global books team and other Springer Nature in-house teams such as journals, content acquisition, sales, production etc.\n· Third party such as Learnt society, institutions, and Universities etc.\nQualifications :\n· Excellent English language skills;\n· Master degree, or above, preferably with a science, or management background;\n· Proactive attitude;\n· Ability to develop and progress business proposals;\n· Good financial understanding and commercial sense.\nSkills/knowledge :\n· Sound analytical skills;\n· Excellent interpersonal and networking skills;\n· Good presentation skills;\n· Excellent negotiation skills;\nExperience :\n· At least 3-4 years' editorial experience within Academic Publishing;\n· Project management experience desired;\n· Knowledge in publishing ethics preferred.\nSpringer Nature Skills associated with this Job Profile include:\nSN-Business Development, SN-Data analytics / Quantitative Skills, SN-Market Intelligence, SN-Portfolio Development & Management, SN-Being Resilient, SN-Persuasion, SN-Drives Results, SN-Balances Stakeholder, SN-Decision Quality, SN-Negotiation Skills\nAt Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
