- Assist in the conceptualization, design, and development of optical systems and components including lenses, mirrors, and other optical devices.
- Contribute to all phases of the product development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, prototype, testing, and product delivery.
- Maintain the integrity of all design aspects, such as optical system performance requirements, cost objectives, and project schedule.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development, ensuring that optical designs meet system requirements and key performance parameters.
- Create and manage design documentation, including specifications, analytical models, and drawings, ensuring that all are in compliance with company standards.
- Analyze and interpret data from design and process experiments to optimize optical performance and manufacturability.
- Support testing and validation activities of optical components and systems to ensure quality and functionality.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and developments within the optics industry to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new projects, contributing to technology advancements for next-generation optics designs.
- Collaborate with suppliers, business partners, and customers to acquire technical knowledge, feedback, and insights that can guide the optics design process.
- Assist in training and guiding junior engineers and designers in optics design principles and applications.
- Remain compliant with all regulatory, health, and safety standards in the execution of duties.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the Manager - Optics Design, to ensure the successful completion of projects and organizational objectives.
