Key Responsibilities
Travel Workstream Ownership & Solution Design
  • Lead the Concur Travel workstream from planning through go-live and hypercare, owning the workstream plan, deliverables, milestones, and risk/issue log
  • Conduct discovery workshops and requirements gathering sessions with client travel program managers, procurement, and corporate travel stakeholders to document current-state travel policies and future-state requirements
  • Design the target-state Concur Travel solution architecture, including travel policy configuration, booking classes, rule sets, approval workflows, and pre-trip authorization flows aligned with both legacy and acquired entity requirements
  • Define the travel policy harmonization strategy to standardize travel rules, preferred vendors, and booking guidelines across both entities post-acquisition
Concur Travel Configuration & Deployment
  • Lead the configuration of the Concur Travel module, including travel policies, travel allowances, itinerary management, and online booking tool (OBT) settings
  • Configure agency proposal settings, passive booking feeds, and direct-connect content sources (airline, hotel, car) within the Concur Travel environment
  • Set up and configure travel classes of service, cabin class restrictions, advance purchase rules, rate caps, and preferred vendor programs
  • Manage the configuration of multi-country travel rules, per diem settings, and duty-of-care / risk management integrations as required by the Life Sciences company's global travel program
  • Lead mobile travel experience configuration and ensure a seamless end-user booking experience across web and mobile platforms
TMC Integration & GDS Connectivity
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for TMC (Travel Management Company) integration activities, coordinating with the client's designated TMC partners on profile synchronization, PNR transmission, and fulfillment workflows
  • Oversee GDS (Global Distribution System) connectivity configuration, involving Client GBT as applicable to the client's travel program
  • Manage the setup and validation of travel profile data feeds between Concur and the TMC, ensuring employee travel preferences, loyalty programs, passport data, and travel arranger assignments are accurately synchronized
  • Coordinate unused ticket tracking, exchange/refund workflows, and travel credit management between Concur and the TMC
Integration with Concur Expense, Concur Pay & S/4HANA
  • Ensure seamless integration between Concur Travel and Concur Expense so that travel bookings flow correctly into expense reports, itinerary items auto-populate, and e-receipt data is matched
  • Coordinate with the Concur Pay (Convera) workstream lead to ensure travel-related corporate card transactions, ghost card payments, and central billing configurations are properly aligned
  • Support the integration touchpoints between Concur Travel and SAP S/4HANA, including cost allocation for travel bookings, travel-related accruals, and trip-to-GL posting logic
  • Collaborate with the technical integration team on API and middleware connectivity (Concur Web Services, SAP Integration Suite / CPI) for travel data flows
Reporting, Analytics & Compliance (Good to have)
  • Define and deliver Concur Travel reporting requirements, including travel spend analytics, policy compliance reports, booking behavior analysis, preferred vendor adoption, and traveler duty-of-care dashboards
  • Support the design of travel-related Cognos-based Analysis/Intelligence reports and dashboards within the Concur reporting framework
  • Ensure the travel configuration supports Life Sciences industry compliance requirements, including attendee tracking for HCP (Healthcare Professional) travel, Open Payments / Sunshine Act reporting readiness, and aggregate spend reporting for travel-related T&E
  • Partner with the client's compliance and legal teams to validate that travel policies and reporting meet regulatory obligations
Testing, Training & Go-Live
  • Develop the Travel workstream test strategy and oversee the creation and execution of test scripts for unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), end-to-end testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Lead defect triage and resolution for travel-related issues identified during testing cycles, coordinating with SAP Concur product support and TMC partners as needed
  • Design and deliver end-user training materials and train-the-trainer sessions for the travel booking and approval process, targeting both the acquired entity's users and existing employees affected by policy changes
  • Provide go-live cutover leadership for the Travel workstream, including readiness assessments, fallback procedures, and hypercare support planning
  • Manage post-go-live stabilization, including monitoring booking volumes, identifying configuration tuning needs, and supporting user adoption
Stakeholder Management & Team Coordination
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison between the project team and client travel program stakeholders, including Global Travel Managers, Procurement, Corporate Security, and Finance
  • Provide regular workstream status updates, risk escalations, and milestone reporting to the Engagement Manager / Project Director
  • Mentor and guide Analyst-level resources assigned to the Travel workstream, including reviewing their configuration work, test execution, and documentation
  • Participate in cross-workstream coordination meetings with the Expense Lead, Concur Pay Lead, and S/4HANA Integration Lead to manage dependencies and ensure a cohesive delivery
Required Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in SAP Concur implementations with a primary focus on Concur Travel, including at least 2-3 full-cycle Concur Travel implementations in a lead or senior functional role
  • Deep expertise in Concur Travel module configuration, including travel policies, booking rules, OBT settings, agency proposal configuration, direct-connect content, and multi-country travel setups
  • Proven experience with TMC integration, including profile synchronization, PNR workflows, GDS connectivity (Sabre, Amadeus, or Travelport), and unused ticket management
  • Strong understanding of the Concur Travel-Expense integration, including itinerary-to-expense flows, e-receipt matching, corporate card reconciliation, and pre-trip to post-trip lifecycle
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA integration in the context of T&E, including cost allocation, financial posting, and middleware / API-based connectivity
  • Hands-on experience with Concur reporting tools (Analysis/Intelligence - Cognos-based) for travel spend analytics and compliance dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams, manage deliverables, and interface with senior client stakeholders in a consulting delivery environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical configurations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Life Sciences or life sciences industry engagements, with familiarity in HCP travel tracking, Open Payments / Sunshine Act, and aggregate spend compliance requirements
  • Experience leading the travel workstream within M&A integration projects, including travel policy harmonization, multi-entity consolidation, and change management across acquired organizations
  • SAP Concur Certified Implementation Specialist (Travel) or equivalent professional certifications
  • Experience with duty-of-care and traveler risk management integrations (e.g., International SOS, WorldAware, Crisis24)
  • Familiarity with corporate card programs (Client GBT, Client, Client) and central billing / ghost card configurations within Concur Travel
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) modules, including cost center accounting, internal orders, and profit center structures
  • Leverage SAP Concur's built-in oversight capabilities - including Concur Detect (powered by Oversight by Emburse) - to monitor expense submissions for policy violations, duplicate transactions, out-of-policy spending, and potential fraud indicators through automated audit rules and exception-based review workflows.
  • Utilize oversight dashboards and analytics to provide real-time visibility into compliance trends, audit hit rates, and risk patterns across both legacy and acquired entity populations. Support the configuration and tuning of audit rule thresholds, risk scoring parameters, and escalation workflows to align with the pharmaceutical company's internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements.
