Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote

Working hours: 2 PM - 11 PM IST
Position Summary
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable DevOps solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. You will lead a team of engineers, drive automation strategies, and ensure high availability, performance, and security of our infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and container orchestration.
You will play a key role in shaping DevOps best practices, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with development and security teams to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to define best practices for deployment, monitoring, and system reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend new DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices to optimize infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in DevOps methodologies, driving innovation in cloud-native and on-prem solutions.
Infrastructure & Cloud Management:
- Design and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS/Azure/GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Implement best practices for cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production environments to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
CI/CD & Automation:
- Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Automate deployment processes to streamline releases across development, staging, and production environments.
- Improve system observability through robust logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
- Implement blue-green deployments, canary releases, and rollbacks for seamless software releases.
Security & Compliance:
- Enforce security best practices including IAM, secrets management, and network security in cloud environments.
- Implement vulnerability scanning, automated security testing, and compliance checks as part of the DevSecOps pipeline.
- Work closely with the InfoSec team to ensure compliance with GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI DSS standards.
Performance Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Establish incident response plans, SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for system reliability.
- Optimize system performance and scalability by analyzing logs, metrics, and application behavior.
- Ensure 24/7 system availability by implementing proactive monitoring, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or SRE roles.
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, or Kubernetes for infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go, or Ruby) for automation.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for container orchestration.
- Solid understanding of networking, load balancing, and security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana).
- Strong understanding of configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with GitOps principles using ArgoCD or Flux.
- Experience working in a high-availability SaaS environment.
- Experience with database administration (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
- Knowledge of incident management frameworks such as ITIL or SRE principles.
