Role Overview
The ITSM – Strategic Portfolio Management professional is responsible for aligning IT initiatives with business strategy by managing demand, investment portfolios, and resources. The role ensures optimal value delivery, governance, and visibility across projects, products, and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and govern the IT portfolio (projects, programs, products, and services) to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Drive demand management, including intake, prioritization, and approval of initiatives
- Oversee financial planning and budgeting, including cost tracking, forecasting, and ROI analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic goals into executable IT initiatives
- Monitor portfolio performance using KPIs, dashboards, and reports
- Support capacity and resource management across teams
- Ensure adherence to ITSM, governance, and compliance standards
- Facilitate portfolio review meetings and executive-level reporting
- Continuously improve portfolio management processes and tools
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (ITIL preferred)
- Experience with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) concepts and practices
- Hands-on experience with SPM tools (e.g., ServiceNow SPM, Clarity, Jira Align, Planview)
- Strong analytical, financial, and reporting skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, or related field
- ITIL certification (preferred)
- SPM / PMP / Safe or related certifications (nice to have)
- 5+ years of experience in ITSM, portfolio management, or IT governance roles
