Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced APM Engineer with deep expertise in AppDynamics to join our Observability and Monitoring team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing end-to-end performance monitoring solutions across our application and infrastructure landscape. Your goal will be to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and user experience of business-critical applications through proactive monitoring and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and maintain AppDynamics agents and controller in enterprise environments.
Develop end-to-end monitoring solutions, including transaction flow mapping, application health rules, custom dashboards, and alerts.
Monitor, analyze, and report on application and system performance issues using APM tools, especially AppDynamics.
Work closely with application developers, DevOps, infrastructure, and QA teams to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance issues.
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for AppDynamics and integrate it with existing observability ecosystems (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, ServiceNow).
Create and maintain documentation for APM standards, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Participate in performance tuning and capacity planning exercises.
Support incident management and root cause analysis by providing deep-dive diagnostics.
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging APM tools and techniques.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in APM engineering, with strong hands-on experience in AppDynamics.
Solid understanding of application architectures (monolithic, microservices, cloud-native).
Experience instrumenting applications across multiple platforms (Java, .NET, Node.js).
Proficiency in analyzing logs, thread dumps, heap dumps, and performance metrics.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell).
Understanding of networking, load balancing, and web protocols (HTTP, REST, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
AppDynamics Certification (e.g., AppDynamics Certified Associate Performance Analyst).
Experience with other APM or observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus).
Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and incident management processes.
