ServiceNow CMDB Architect

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise-level CMDB solutions aligned with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CMDB architecture, ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping), and data governance, ensuring accurate and reliable configuration data to support ITSM and business services.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise CMDB architecture aligned with ServiceNow best practices and CSDM framework
Define and maintain CI class models, relationships, and data standards
Establish and enforce CMDB data governance, policies, and lifecycle management
Drive CSDM adoption across business and IT teams
Implement and optimize ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management
Ensure CMDB data quality (completeness, correctness, compliance) through audits and automation
Integrate CMDB with ITSM modules for accurate incident, problem, and change impact analysis
Design and implement data ingestion strategies from multiple sources (cloud, on-prem, third-party tools)
Collaborate with stakeholders to define business services and service mapping strategies
Lead CMDB transformation initiatives and provide architectural guidance to development teams
Identify and resolve data duplication, reconciliation, and normalization issues
Create and maintain technical documentation, data models, and governance frameworks
Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM
Strong hands-on experience with CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, and Service Mapping
Deep understanding of CI relationships, identification & reconciliation rules (IRE)
Experience in CMDB data governance and lifecycle management
Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, APIs, and data ingestion tools
Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting
Experience integrating cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with ServiceNow
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
ServiceNow Discovery and/or Service Mapping Certification
Experience in large-scale CMDB transformation programs
Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices
