About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic QA Lead to build, lead, and scale our Quality Assurance processes across a fast-moving start-up environment. You'll oversee the full QA lifecycle-defining test strategies, coordinating execution, mentoring QA Analysts, and driving quality throughout the development cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA team, owning the overall testing strategy and quality roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to define test plans and acceptance criteria (BDD preferred).
- Implement and evolve test automation strategies using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and SQL.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated test suites for frontend (React/ShadCN), backend (Golang, Laravel), and API layers.
- Ensure quality across a distributed architecture using AWS, Firebase, and PostgreSQL/Redis.
- Drive adoption of best practices including hexagonal architecture and CI/CD pipelines via GitHub and Linear.
- Report quality metrics and facilitate root cause analyses for production issues.
- Act as a QA evangelist, driving a culture of quality across the organization.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in software quality assurance, with 2+ years in a leadership or mentorship capacity.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.
- Solid understanding of BDD, test design patterns, and microservice testing strategies.
- Experience testing systems built with React, Golang, Laravel, and VueJS.
- Comfortable navigating cloud infrastructure- AWS, Firebase, EC2, Lambda, Amplify, Cloudflare.
- Expertise with databases like PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Proficiency in QA tools and workflows using GitHub and Linear.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
