Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering (Upstream Focus)

Strong Handon Experience with Upstream facilities Operations, Commissioning and troubleshooting.

Develop and review Upstream Standard Operating Procedures for Upstream Facilities.

including wellhead platforms, CPF/CTF, GGS, EPF.

Review the Engineering documents PFD, P&ID, SOG, Control Narrative, Cause and Effect Matrix.

Lead the L2 & L3 Engineers to guide them on New SOP Development.

Ensure compliance with company standards and international codes (API, ASME, ISO, IEC, EEMUA).

Review the Risk associated within the SOP and provide mitigation measures.

Commissioning & Start-Up Responsibilities

Develop and review commissioning and start-up philosophies, procedures, and check sheets.

Support dynamic simulation, operator training, and start-up readiness reviews.

Lead process troubleshooting during commissioning, start-up, and performance testing.

Support first oil / first gas activities and ramp-up to stable operations.

Interface & Stakeholder Management

Act as the single point integrator between Operations, Maintenance, HSE/PSM, Process Engineering, Reliability, Projects, and Training/Competency to ensure SOPs reflect engineering intent and field execution reality.

Align SOP content with operating philosophy, asset integrity requirements, and site management systems (PTW/LOTO/MOC).

Collaborate with OEMs/vendors to integrate operating recommendations into SOPs while ensuring full compliance with site safety standards.

Support audits and regulatory inspections by demonstrating robust SOP governance, clear competency linkage, and evidence of control implementation.

Review vendor documentation, resolve technical queries, and manage deviations.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to company HSE standards and process safety requirements.

Promote safe commissioning practices and SIMOPS management.

Integrate process safety requirements into SOPs (e.g., LOTO boundaries, gas testing, SIMOPS constraints, confined space precautions).

Align SOPs with hazard studies and risk controls (HAZOP, What-If, Bowtie, LOPA) and ensure controls are operationally executable.

Ensure emergency response actions are aligned with site ERP, ESD philosophy, and fire & gas systems.

Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Experience

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering

15-25 years of experience in Oil & Gas with strong upstream exposure.

Proven experience in process engineering, commissioning, and start-up activities. and SOP, Process Manual Development.

Hands-on experience with oil & gas separation, gas processing, and utilities systems.

Strong understanding of upstream process operations and equipment: separators, compressors, pumps, dehydration, produced water, flare/relief, utilities

Proficiency in interpreting: PFDs, P&IDs, Cause & Effect matrices, shutdown philosophies, equipment datasheets

Working knowledge of: process safety management, MOC, risk assessments, permit to work, LOTO

Ability to translate risk controls and engineering intent into operator-executable steps.

Technical Competencies

Strong knowledge of upstream oil & gas process systems and commissioning methodologies.

Develop, revise, and standardize SOPs for upstream facility operations, including normal, start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.

Working knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, IEC).

Experience with process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS or UniSim.

Ability to review vendor packages, datasheets, and operating manuals.
