The Placement Officer will play a critical role in enabling Meaningful Work Transitions (MWT) for learners graduating from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Vocational Training Institutes (VTI) in Tamil Nadu. Meaningful Work Transitions refer to supporting learners to transition from ITIs into the world of work or further pathways, including jobs, apprenticeships, self\-employment, and higher education.<\/span>

The role focuses on strengthening industry partnerships, supporting VTI, ITI placement teams, enabling effective placement and transition operations, and driving data\-driven decision\-making aligned with program goals.<\/span>

The position requires close collaboration with ITI Principals, Placement Officers (POs), CSOs, industry partners, employers, and internal program teams to ensure alignment, effective execution of placement and transition strategies, and improved employment outcomes for learners across the ITI ecosystem in Tamil Nadu.<\/span>

1. System Enablement & Stakeholder Coordination<\/span>

  • Enable and support ITI placement teams to implement Meaningful Work Transition strategies that support learner movement from ITIs to jobs, apprenticeships, self\-employment, and higher education.<\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • Participate in and support regular review meetings with ITI Principals, Placement Officers, CSOs, and relevant stakeholders.<\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • Support regional teams across Tamil Nadu in planning and executing industry engagement and learner transition activities.<\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • Ensure consistency and alignment of industry engagement and work transition practices across regions.<\/span>
    <\/p><\/li>\n

  • Act as a coordination bridge between ITIs, employers, and internal program teams.<\/span>

    2. Industry Engagement & Employer Partnerships<\/span>
    <\/p>\n

    • Establish and nurture partnerships with industries, employers, and industry associations to create employment and apprenticeship opportunities for ITI learners.<\/span>
      <\/p><\/li>\n

    • Facilitate structured conversations between employers and ITIs to align expectations on skills, roles, and hiring processes.<\/span>
      <\/p><\/li>\n

    • Build and maintain a robust employer database to support placements and transition pathways.<\/span>
      <\/p><\/li>\n

    • Conduct employer outreach through calls, company visits, guest lectures, job description collection, and coordination of walk\-ins or placement drives.<\/span>
      <\/p><\/li>\n

    • Build strong working relationships with industry representatives and placement officers.<\/span>

      3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (M&E)<\/span>
      <\/p>\n

      • Support the M&E focal point in conducting baseline, end\-line, and other assessments related to placements and learner transitions.<\/span>
        <\/p><\/li>\n

      • Analyze placement and transition data to generate insights for internal teams and external stakeholders.<\/span>
        <\/p><\/li>\n

      • Prepare monitoring reports and document program processes, outcomes, and impact through case studies and best practices.<\/span>
        <\/p><\/li>\n

      • Regularly review dashboards to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of data related to learner transitions.<\/span>
        <\/p><\/li>\n

      • Support stakeholders in interpreting data for planning, review, and course correction.<\/span>

        4. Placement Operations & Learner Support<\/span>
        <\/p>\n

        • Follow up on pre\-placement and post\-placement activities to ensure smooth learner transitions.<\/span>
          <\/p><\/li>\n

        • Conduct validation calls in line with the Hub team's sampling plan and prepare verified datasets.<\/span>
          <\/p><\/li>\n

        • Collect feedback from learners and employers after placements, apprenticeships, and transition\-related events.<\/span>
          <\/p><\/li>\n

        • Conduct aspiration mapping of learners and align outcomes with Meaningful Work Transition pathways.<\/span>
          <\/p><\/li>\n

        • Support mobilization of learners for placement events and share relevant opportunities.<\/span>
          <\/p><\/li>\n

        • Facilitate job readiness and transition\-readiness sessions at ITIs, including resume preparation, interview skills, workplace readiness, and structured feedback.<\/span>

          5. Reporting & Documentation<\/span>
          <\/p>\n

          • Consolidate reports related to placements, apprenticeships, job fairs, transition workshops, and industry engagement activities.<\/span>
            <\/p><\/li>\n

          • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into databases and monitoring tools.<\/span>
            <\/p><\/li>\n

          • Ensure availability of reliable and up\-to\-date data for reporting and decision\-making.<\/span>
            <\/p><\/li>\n

          • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly donor reports within agreed timelines.<\/span>
            <\/p><\/li>\n

          • Prepare documentation and presentations for internal and external review meetings.<\/span>

            Requirements<\/h3>\n

            Required Experience & Skills:<\/span>
            <\/p>\n

              \n
            • Candidates with 2-4 years of experience in placements, skilling programs, livelihood initiatives, or industry engagement roles will be considered.<\/span>
              <\/p><\/li>\n

            • Candidates with proven ability to organise academic exposure, internships, placements, employer engagement, and data capturing.<\/span>
              <\/p><\/li>\n

            • Strong interest in industry engagement, placements, and supporting learner transitions from training to work or further education.<\/span>
              <\/p><\/li>\n

            • Good communication, coordination, and basic data\-handling skills.<\/span>
              <\/p><\/li>\n

            • Ability and willingness to work closely with multiple stakeholders, including training institutes, employers, community partners, and internal program teams.<\/span>
              <\/p><\/li>\n

              The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 37,000 \/\- per month (cost to company) (<\/span>The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)<\/span>
