Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Product Manager - Technical in Alexa Smart Properties, you will own and drive the product vision and execution for two critical pillars: Communication Experiences and Device Management. You will define and deliver communication features including video calling, messaging, photo sharing, across a variety of customers, including resident to family experiences, or staff to resident experiences. You will build both customer facing solutions as well as enterprise and technical solutions for communication capabilities. You will also own the product strategy for launching new device management capabilities in our enterprise console including remote reboot, remote reset, OTA management, and device health monitoring, and define the future set of device management and device setup capabilities to enable our devices to easily managed by enterprises and adhere to security and privacy requirements expected of an enterprise product. You'll dive deep into device setup flows, device software stacks, and firmware to make informed product decisions that balance feature delivery with system health and architectural integrity.
Across both pillars, you will use all means possible - including AI capabilities - to accelerate development cycles, enable faster learning, make better decisions, and unlock new forms of innovation. You will leverage GenAI to rapidly generate prototypes, specifications, and documentation to validate customer value propositions faster. You will deeply understand your product's business context - market dynamics, competitive landscape, pricing strategy, and profitability drivers - and articulate how product decisions impact business outcomes.
You will define vision (PR/FAQ), problem statements, tenets, and strategy while owning roadmap and priorities. You will influence without authority, building alignment across teams with different priorities - engineering, science, design, finance, marketing, sales, legal, and operations. You will establish key performance indicators, drive feature adoption, and measure the health of your product and business, distinguishing between output metrics such as adoption and outcome metrics such as customer satisfaction and business impact. You will create buy-in for your vision across the Alexa organization and with external partners, and conduct or commission customer research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to identify best-of-breed benchmarks and understand market opportunities.
A day in the life
As a Sr. PMT in Alexa Smart Properties, rarely are two days the same. You are a business owner, the voice of the customer, and the point person for partner teams across communication and device management experiences.
On a daily basis, you will be working with enterprise customers to understand the communication, device management, and device setup problems they're trying to solve. Diving deep both into the end customer and the enterprise customer problems, analyzing service and business metrics, writing PRFAQs and BRDs, iterating on product decisions with Engineering teams, evaluating how GenAI and agentic systems can accelerate your roadmap, working with partners in business development, solution architects, legal, documentation, and more. You will think big to envision what's next for enterprise communications, and exhibit "Learn and Be Curious" for different technologies - including device software, firmware, MDM protocols, and emerging AI capabilities.
You will make informed trade-offs, partner with designers and developers on mockups and prototypes, define acceptance criteria, and participate in testing and validation. You'll evaluate technical proposals for strengths and weaknesses - including extensibility, performance, and scalability - asking the right questions to identify risks before commitments are made. You'll assess how AI capabilities can reshape product architectures, when autonomous agent patterns enhance versus complicate product design, and how to leverage GenAI to accelerate insight generation while applying critical judgment. You will use AI on a daily basis to increase your velocity and scale your impact.
