We are seeking dedicated, disciplined, and motivated veterans (exservicemen) to join our IT Support team as Application Support Engineers. This role is ideal for individuals transitioning from defense or uniformed services into the technology domain, who demonstrate a strong desire to learn, adapt, and build a career in IT application support.

The position focuses on supporting and managing SaaS and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, with exposure to Single Sign-On (SSO), user management, incident handling, and cloud-based applications. Prior deep technical experience is not mandatory-structured training, mentorship, and onthejob learning will be provided.

Requirements

Mandatory

  • Veteran / Exservicemen / Defence personnel transitioning into a corporate IT role.
  • Strong desire to learn and build a career in technology and application support.
  • Basic understanding or exposure to:
    • IT operations or application support concepts
    • Programming/scripting fundamentals (Python or C# preferred)
    • SQL basics and database concepts
  • Willingness to work in structured support environments and follow defined ITIL processes.
  • Strong discipline, reliability, and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based environments.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

  • Prior experience with IT systems, communications, signals, or technical roles during service.
  • Exposure to SaaS platforms, SSO, identity management, or ServiceNow.
  • Basic familiarity with Azure or cloud concepts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application & Technical Support

  • Provide Level 1/Level 2 application support to internal users or customers via helpdesk tools, email, and calls.
  • Assist in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to enterprise SaaS and COTS applications under guidance.
  • Adhere strictly to defined processes, SLAs, and escalation procedures.

2. SSO Implementation & User Management

  • Support Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations for enterprise applications.
  • Perform user access provisioning, deprovisioning, and permission management while ensuring security and compliance.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to support authentication and identity integrations.

3. Incident & Service Request Management

  • Log, track, and manage incidents and service requests using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Follow operational discipline to prioritize incidents and support timely resolution.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining clear documentation.

4. System Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Monitor application health, availability, and performance metrics.
  • Support routine maintenance activities and participate in scheduled checks and validations.

5. Automation, Scripting & Code Support

  • Learn and assist in developing or troubleshooting Python and C# scripts, PowerApps for automation of repetitive tasks and Sharepoint for content management,
  • Support enhancement of existing scripts and automation frameworks used by the support team.

6. Database & SQL Support

  • Learn to write and modify basic SQL queries for data retrieval and validation.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving basic database-related issues with guidance.

7. Code Version Management

  • Gain hands-on exposure to GitHub Enterprise for source control and version management.
  • Follow defined code management and review processes.

8. Cloud & SaaS Exposure

  • Build foundational understanding of Azure cloud services and SaaS-based application models.
  • Support cloud-hosted applications under the supervision of experienced team members.

9. Process Adherence & Improvement

  • Follow welldefined operational processes with a strong focus on discipline and quality.
  • Contribute suggestions for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the support function.

10. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, FAQs, and knowledge articles.
  • Support training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for users and team members.

11. Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, reviews, and learning sessions.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and professionalism-core strengths of veteran professionals.
