Associate Director - DPP
Roles & responsibilities
Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the US Department of Professional Practice (DPP) to support the development of highquality technical accounting content.
Develop and refine US GAAP technical accounting guidance and illustrative examples, with a primary focus on DPP Accounting Handbooks and other externalfacing materials, leveraging strong technical research, writing skills, and evolving AI tools.
Monitor and stay current on FASB project developments, particularly those relevant to your assigned topic team(s).
Prepare content for and potentially present on technical accounting matters at US DPP group or topic team meetings and on external-facing webcasts/podcasts.
Support groupwide initiatives and special projects as needed.
Assist with the ongoing needs and daily operations of our technical accounting topic teams.
Plan and organize work effectively, conducting upfront and postengagement reviews of deliverables to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
Demonstrate strong project management skills, including managing stakeholder expectations and proactively communicating progress, risks, and issues.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior GDC/DPP team members, and collaborate with senior team members on the GDC/DPP India team as needed.

Educational qualifications
CA/CPA (shall hold membership)
Work experience
Recent and extensive experience in applying/implementing IFRS accounting standards and US GAAP are required - 10 to 12 years of post-qualification experience in Big 4 national office or similar function (e.g. Capital Markets Group, Accounting Advisory, or serving large/complex clients)
Experience in conducting external audits in accordance with ISAs/US GAAS would be beneficial

Mandatory technical & functional skills
IT savvy, including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Should be proficient in MS Power Point to create effective presentations. Additional exposure to/knowledge of other IT applications (e.g. MS Teams, SharePoint) would be beneficial
Excellent project management skills, particularly managing stakeholders' expectations and proactively communicating issues, solutions and progress
Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective upward management and cross team communication
Motivated to learn and utilize AI tools in a fast-paced environment
