Vice President - Taxation, Societe Generale Bank India (Mumbai)
Job Summary: To manage direct, indirect taxation & transfer pricing Tax compliances of all entities in Mumbai
Main Responsibilities:
1. Taxation
Ensure all direct and indirect tax compliances on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Co-ordinate with Tax consultants/Regional tax team for all Tax assessment & Litigations.
Co-ordinate & manage all the Tax related projects such as Advance pricing Agreement
related filings & finalization.
Monitor, implement changes pertaining to Direct and Indirect tax laws and ruling.
Support business with tax inputs for new product/business developments.
Manage tax trackers and monthly updates to regional tax team.
Prepare accurate and timely tax planning reports for DFIN (Finance Department) Paris to
monitor tax capacities
Managing the tax project
2. In conjunction with SEGL/FIS (Regional Tax department) Asia:
Comply with various tax risk assessments and declaration in TGM (Tax Global Tool) swiftly, while monitoring the risks already logged in TGM and updating associated provisions to be booked
Ensure the compliance of the existing transfer pricing with the local business reality
Be responsible for tax inspections and Tax office queries (for locations concerned)
Coordinate and contribute to completion of NPC (New Product Committee) tax checklist for SEGL/FIS review
Actively participate to monthly regional tax co-ordination meeting
Contribute and control as necessary key tax projects where applicable
Ensure all the internal/external tax inspection recommendations closure on time
3. Internal and External audits: Actively participate and contribute for various internal and external audits.
4. Update knowledge on tax and accounting:
Monitor changes in the field of Local taxation.
Update changes in local regulation committee.
Make necessary changes in processes/systems to implement applicable changes
5. Projects:
Support new products/business development by giving input on applicable accounting and taxation.
Identify scope of improvements for time/effort saving and fine-tuning processes.
Participate in Automation Projects - drafting business requirements, UAT, parallel run, signoff etc.
Academic Background (degree and major):
Chartered Accountant
Relevant Certifications as recommended under Capacity Building Policy.
Relevant Working Experience in number of years: 12-16 years of experience in Banking and Finance Industry
