Data Engineer(Snowflake)

Role Overview

A Data Engineer specializing in Snowflake is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using Snowflake. The role focuses on enabling efficient data storage, processing, and analytics for business intelligence and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
• Build and optimize data models in Snowflake data warehouse
• Work with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, Avro, Parquet)
• Develop data ingestion processes from multiple sources:
  • APIs
  • Databases
  • Cloud storage (S3, Azure Blob, GCS)
• Optimize Snowflake performance using:
  • Clustering
  • Partitioning strategies
  • Query tuning
• Implement data transformation logic using SQL and scripting
• Build and manage data integration tools such as:
  • Apache Airflow
  • dbt (data build tool)
• Ensure data quality, validation, and governance
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business teams
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and production issues
• Implement security, access control, and compliance policies

Required Skills

• Strong experience in SQL and data modeling
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture
• Knowledge of:
  • ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Data warehousing concepts
• Experience with cloud platforms:
  • Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing
• Familiarity with API integrations and data ingestion tools
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
